What is Ruqyah?

What is Ruqyah? I stumbled upon a video that said that anyone who takes Ruqyah as their profession is doing Bi'dah and why it was so, but it didn't really explain what ruqyah was. I still don't really have much of a clue. Can someone please explain what ruqyah is to me?

I agree that there are many "charlatans" posing as genuine raaqis these days but this type of healing is prescribed by the Quran to aid those that are under that type of influence. A person should learn to do ruqyah themselves first and foremost but even so there are times when this type of knowledge has been studied more intensely by others. It's a grey area but I believe that there are genuine raaqis that know what they're doing.

Not sure if that still counts as bid'ah. Allahu alim.
