Wa Alaykum AS Salaam Brother,
Wahabi is a derogatory label given by people to the revivalist movement started by Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhab in Arabian Peninsula.
Most important book that he wrote was Kitaab ut tawheed or book of tawheed.
I request you to read this book to find out SO LESS has this shaykh written from his opinion in the book...
Basically he qoutes verses from Quran and hadith in each chapter and make list of points...thats ALL!!!
Many times even the name of the chapter is based on verse from Quran or hadith!!!
And subhanAllah people called it Wahhabism...

"Wahabi" is a derogatory term, used to malign anyone who does not Worship Graves, does not pray to dead saints... or anyone who tells people to stay away from Shirk or Bidah. !!
Thats because, Muhammad ibn AbdulWahab wrote great books about Tawheed and Aqeedah and gave a lot of dawah in the Arabian peninsula. Sufis, Shia and others who thrive upon deceipt and doing evil actions like Shirk and Bidah, try to find ways to confuse and make negative propoganda, thus they created this word "Wahabi"
In reality, it is not a group or sect. Nobody calls themselves a Wahabi.
Also, these teachings are not new. It is all based in the Quran and Hadith of course.
Thats what Kitab Tawheed contains.
In the past, there were many great books, such as by Ibn Mundah, which was written over 1000 years ago, books by Imam Ahmad and other scholars. -
