wife upset with me converting to Islam

Assalamu Alaikum brothers and sisters--my wife is upset with me since I converted to Islam 8 weeks ago--I am trying to stay humble before her to show her a good Muslim example-Insha Allah-I hope I am conducting myself in a way that can eventually reach her heart for Islam--any suggestions from my brother and sister muslims would be appreciated.

First, congratulations for reverting to Islam! May Allah bless you in this life and in the next.

Perhaps you can show her this powerful documentary of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) aired by PBS. It will give her a wider picture of Islam and Muslims. It includes input from many Americans and religious scholars.

Indeed Allaah guides whom He wills and you are truly blessed.Allaah subhana wa ta'ala will test you and this what's happening with your wife is just a test among others. Just be patient with her, be kind, study Islaam and follow the example of Noble Prophet sallallahu aleihi wa sallam, he was the "Walking Qur'an" and the best rolemodel to us in all religious matters and in dealing with his wives.

May Allaah give you patience and keep you on the straight path and may He (subhana wa ta'ala) give guidance to your spouse. Amin.

This book also will give the good news that Allah provided for those who respond to this call with the verse, "give good news to the steadfast" (Surat al-Baqara, 155). Moreover, emphasis will be placed on the facts that Allah is "with the steadfast" (Surat al-Baqara, 153) and that patience is a matchless key that opens doors to many fine things for the faithful. As Prophet Muhammad (saas) states:

Whoever remains patient, Allah will make him patient. Nobody can be given a blessing better and greater than patience. (Bukhari)

First of all I want to congratulate you, you are very lucky alhamdullilah. Second, about your wife, its a tough situation but if be patient and pray to Allah, there is no doubt Allah will accept your prayer in soon she will also accept Islam. Just be careful on forcing anything on her because that will make it worse. Just either give her a really good book or have her listen to a really good lecture by a shiek ( i recommend Shiekh Hamza Yusuf, he is also a convert, his speaches are so good and influential). Just while your driving with her pop in the cd of the lecture in the cd player or have her listen to it on her own. Just be patient, and I will pray for you.

Wow very interesting, I've never been to the Zaytuna Institute but I have listened to Shiekh Hamza's lectures. I have heard other people saying these things about Shiekh Hamza, well may Allah guide us all. Thank you sister.
