On the authority of Ka’b al-Ahbaar, who said:

((To cry out of fear of Allaah is more beloved to me than to give my weight in gold to charity)).

Siyar A’laam an-Nubalaa. – Volume 3, Page 490

=====

On the authority of 'Amru ibn Thaabit who said: When 'Alee ibn al-Husayn died, they washed him and noticed a black mark on his back, so they (some of them) said:

((What is this?)) So they (the others) said:

((He used to carry a sack of flour on his back during the night and used to distribute it to the poor and needy of the people of Madeenah)).

Siffatus-Safwah - Volume 2, Page 96

=====

On the authority of Abee Hamzah ath-Thumaalee who said: 'Alee ibn al-Husayn used to carry a sack of bread on his back during the night and used to distriibute it in charity. And he used to say:

((Indeed, charity done in secret will prevent the anger of the Lord, the Mighty and Majestic)).

SubhanAllah,

Allah raised the honor of these pios salaf subhanALlah. I mean even their slightest actions are remembered and they didnt have memory cards, camaras, nothing. When you read the lives of the salaf, you ask urself "ja ALlah, these people just people, or were they malaikah". I mean their actions were so beatiful. I wonder if anyone will remember me in good, or any of my little actions. To me having one deed done sincerely for the sake of Allah, is better than everything on this world including all my deads.

Assalamu alaykum
