Asalaamu alaykum everyone!

I have just found this site and wanted to introduce myself!
I have been exploring Islam for about 18months now which has been a wonderful journey. I feel blessed to have discovered the truth.

I am hoping to take my shahada soon inshallah. I talked to my mother yesterday about where I am in my search and she was a lot more supportive than I expected, Subhan Allah.

I still have to tell the rest of my family which I think (and my Mum warned me) is going to be more difficult than with Mum and I am not sure how to do it. I live in a different city from my family and therefore can't talk about it in person for another month. But I feel that I want to talk to them sooner as I don't really want to delay my shahada much longer!

I wanted to hear from other reverts who have gone through the experience of talking to their families and their thoughts on the best way to do it.
I continue to make dua to Allah that he will help me and give me the strength to talk to them.

I called my dad on the phone and told him. He was cool with it. My mom is not so comfortable with my decision, but I can only do so much

it is nice to heard from you...that u are searching truth and inshallah ...you are close to that truth,,,,,,i suggest you to don't take much time to accept the truth of islam and make shahada as early as posble, ALLAH wil take care of everything wat comes infront of you...i hope here many brothers and sisters who are reverts wil help you inshallah...

Just Say: LA ILAHA ILLAL-LAH MUHAMMAD UR-RASOOL ALLAH.
