An Orphan's Eid

Umm Aysha

*Strive for Jannah*
It was the day of celebration and a day of rejoicing. There was an air of festivity in the streets of Madinah. All the people, both young and old were dressed in their best clothes, especially for this special day of Eid.

As it was time for early morning Eid prayers everyone made their way to an open piece of land on the outskirts of the city. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) arrived and led the prayers. After they had finished they all greeted each other and everyone was walking back home. The children running and playing in excitement, smiling and laughing, without a care in the world. As the Prophet (pbuh) walked back home, he suddenly became aware of a little boy (Zuhair Bin Saghir) sitting by himself on the side of the path. The little boy was crying and looked very sad. The Prophet (pbuh) bent down and patted him on the shoulders and asked 'why are you crying?' 'Please leave me alone' sobbed the little boy. The boy didn't even see who was talking to him. The Prophet (pbuh) ran his fingers through the boy's hair and very gently and kindly asked him again why he was crying. This time the boy said, 'My father was martyred fighting, and now my mother has married again and my stepfather does not want me to live at home any more. Today is Eid and everyone is happy. All the children have new clothes and nice things to eat, but I don't have any clothes except what I am wearing. I have no food and I don't even have a place to live.'

The Prophet (pbuh) said to him, 'I know how you feel, I lost both my mother and father when I was a little boy.' The boy was surprised to hear that it was an orphan who was comforting him, and when he looked up to his great surprise it was the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), and he immediately jumped up to his feet out of love and respect.

The Prophet (pbuh) said to him 'If I were to become your new father and Ayesha you new mother, and Fatima your new sister, would that make you feel better?' 'Oh yes, that would be the best thing in the world!' The boy started smiling. The Prophet took him home and gave him new clothes and good food on this beautiful day of Eid. The boy indeed had a wonderful Eid that day.

We should think of others that are less fortunate than ourselves on this beautiful day of Eid. Not everyone has such a wonderful day. It is a day of celebration, but take a moment to stop and think of those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

Dont worry sis, Insha'Allah Allah will send someone to take you has his own. You still have Allah (SHW) & He (SHW) is above all. All these rich non-muslims may have everything (or so they think) but they do not have Allah's blessings & they are the true unfortunate.

Stay steadfast & Insha'Allah things will work out. I'll remember you both in my prayers Insha'Allah.

P.S: I forgot to mention, YOU GUYS HAVE USSSSSSSS!!! :muslim_child:

Assalamu alaykum, Jazakallahu khayr sister Muslima80 for the Topic, it was a good article.

Sisters hambaAllah and Brighten, Allah will always be with you , and you have countless Muslim brothers and sisters who love you and care :).

Dont ever feel down. This life is so short, subhanallah. Dont worry dear sisters. May Allah forgive those you lost and give them jannatul firdaus. Once Muslim leaves this world, and they see their place in Jannah, they would never want to come back.

These are for both of you especially and for all my other Muslim bros and sisters. May Allah give you happiness and blessings in this life and the next. And make things easier for you and your families.

story waaaah

:bismillah:
:salam2: bros/sis n :jazaak: for kind thoughts n prayer
in my country,,only a muslim family cud adopt muslim orphans. They should be financially sound with good background,,cos our govt make sure that orphan shud be well provided which include education at whichever level she/he cud achieve. If the orphan is a baby-12yrs the social welfare officer will come calling at least once a year to ck on the foster family n maybe interview the child about the here present situation, like how she/he likes the family,, if there any abuse or mistreatment the child will be taken back.I was consider "old" at 14 so they came to ck me once when i was 15 n i told them all fine,, i studied till secondary level.I consider myself very very lucky indeed cos a few of the inmates end up as live-in servant(maid),with miserly pay it seems. They were not educated n to late to enter school cos they were admitted in the welfare home when they r older.I was doing well in school but disillusioned cos i was looking for family :SMILY252: :SMILY252: :SMILY252: I was still schooling so foster parents have to make sure that i complete my education.Alhamdulillah :allahuakbar But the inmates get to learn to read n write English and Malay, religious study. So some of them who r admitted into welfare home illiterate end up being able to read n write, cook n sew but that too depend on the individual if they want to improve themselves. They dont forced u to study cos the teachers r mostly volunteers, kind ladies with knowledge n time to help us the underprevilege i guess. The welfare home consists of all kind of "problems" girls n ladies.I think only 2 of us r orphans. After my adoption i heard nothing of the former inmates/friends of mine. The home have been demolished n relocated elsewhere too..Both my foster parents n my foster sister have passed away too.May Allah swt blessed them. Typing this bring back good n bad memories of my childhood:SMILY23: :SMILY23: :SMILY23:
