I am DISTURBED.....

Okay, so where I work we have over 90 employees at this office. Our CEO came in today for a presentation and he came about asking who we want for president. He said Obama, there were lik 5 people who raised their hands. He said Hillary and no hands raised. He said he can infer that all others are Mccain supporters. I was very disturbed. These are very different people from different backgrounds and they are apparently okay with letting another Bush puppet take office. I was really astounded. Are they blind? In the end the CEO said he would vote for McCain as well because he is too old to serve more than 1 year and is the least likely to go in with a bunch of ideals and change the government around. That is the point people!!!! He is going to just like Bush poiltics continue!!! I am really upset!!!!

Well, I think it was because we were talking about the direction of our company and how the elections would affect us. But maybe the other poster was right in that maybe they didn't want to divulge that information. It surprised me though because the primaries here in VA showed unprecedented support for Obama from former Republicans. As for the poster who said Barack wants war with Pakistan, that is NOT true. That is crap thrown out there by Anti-Obama idiots. I have heard no words from his mouth or reports about him calling for war with Pakistan. Why would he do that when he was against Iraq war?

Assalamu alaikum sister!

I don't know much bout US politics and who is good or bad, but I would say that it is too early to grieve just because majority of the people from your company may be inclined to electing another Bush.

Don't forget that they all have one point in common. They all come from the same area and work for the same company so they can't be representative exampl of the whole country.

Whoever becomes the next dictator of US, I hope he/she will not shed more blood.

May the help of Allah be with muslims all over the world and may he bring much needed peace to this disturbed planet.

Uh I BEG to differ. It is very much true and I HAVE heard it from his mouth. In fact all the newspapers in NYC had his quotes all over the front page the next morning up till the point where Bush (a staunch supporter of McCain) was even quoting Obama's words when asked about what his feelings were for him.

Obama is against the Iraq war because it was clearly a stupid move on the part of the American government when there was no initial proof of mass weapons of destruction being present in Iraq. Therefore, he was against it because they attacked an innocent country with nothing to go on. Regarding Pakistan, Obama said he would DEFINITELY invade because it was apparently made very clear by the oh so authentic American media that Al Qaida and the Taliban were carrying out extremist attacks. And because of this so-called proof, Obama had the ammo necessary to play hero and say he would fight them. Very big difference between situations. The public condemns what's happening in Iraq because there's no proof whereas they support invading Pakistan because of the "supposed" proof. And these politicians will DEFINITELY play to the sentiments of the crowd.

Yes we in South Africa have been following the US politics very closely... Obama, looks a bit like a gangster... lol (joke).
I find the politics of the US fascinating... like what keeps the majorities voting for the same kind of people? With the same kind of political and fiscal policies... then we watch the news and we hear the majority of Americans complaining about there elected government... then elections come around again and onec again the people with the same ideological deficiancies get voted in again, so Sister DianeK I can understand your concern.

If you think US politics is interseting... you guys have NO idea what is happening in my country....

We are probably going to have a President that WAS ACCUSED OF RAPE.. oh yes never convicted, who said that after having unprotected sex you should just take a shower and you wont get HIV!!!!!
We have a health Minister who insists that eating beetroot and raw onions is better for Aids patients tahn actually taking anti-retrovirals... on top of that she had a liver transpalnt because hers was damaged due to accessive consuption of alchol!
Then there is our Chief of Police who is linked to the biggest gangters in SA!!! lol, and who was caught taking bribes of up to 2- Million Rand!!!
Oh yes our Minister of Minerals insists that in order for us to cut down on electricity we should all sleep early because it makes us CLEAVERER!!!! (there is no such a word... but obviously everyone who finished garde 10 would know that)

The positive thing is that our government is a pro- Muslim government and we give supplied to Lebonon, Palestine, Afghanistan on a regular basis, we also provide all Muslims fleeing from oppression asylum!

So all in all, sisters and brothers can you imagine how disturbed I am... lol

I have never heard Obama say anything about attacking Pakistan. I have watched many of his debates. If he said it then I missed it but I would think if he did it would be BIG news across the country. But not arguing the point, if he did he did.

Politics in South Africa sounds pretty sad. I am pretty ignorant about that part of the world......Going to show my age here.....Is Nelson Mandela still involved with the government there? I have ALWAYS admired him!

The issue here in America is that the population can vote anyway they want and in the end, it is the delegates and superdelegates that make the decisions. Our individual votes are a joke, they mean NOTHING! All we can hope is that our votes sway the delegates to see our views. It is very sad and not the way our forefathers intended politics to be. I wish we could have another Thomas Jefferson or George Washington in office. Sadly, it won't happen. Money rules and those with money like things just the way they are.

SA politics is more of a zoo or circus!!! lol Mr Madiba (Nelson Mandela) is still very silently involved. The old man is really a bit sickly now.. but he still has his Madiba "magic" he is a lovely man.. I went to school with his grandaughter and we were at each others houses very often as we were friends from gade 1 lol...

But our politics is all fun and games everyone makes a name for themselves by being a few fries short of a happy meal....:angryblue:

American politics sounds so deceptive, because they are constantly harping on democracy when it is a clear facade!!!

There is a wonderful Dua for the victory of the Muslim over the kuffar... on a websit called Kalamullah.com

Take Care sis DianeK and all my TTI family:SMILY259:

Hello,

American Politics is no more deceptive than other countries in the world. the only difference is that we are more prominant. No country has honest politicians, the name itself breeds deceit. Politicians do not get into politics to improve the world, they do it to gain power and fame. This goes for ALL countries from the East to the West. As for voting for Hillary, Obama or McCain, there is no differece between them. They are out for the same thing. Hillary is awful, Obama I don't know enough of, McCain (the same McCain that Bush supporters hated 8 years ago) is probably in principle better than the democrates have but nothing will get changed. Social security will still need fixing (they've promised to fix it since reagan was in office), Healthcare will need to be improved (this has been going on for decades)..we will be distracted and not keep our "Leaders" accountable.

I am not voting for the dems or the republicrates. I vote Libertarian because their message is clear and honest (as much as it can be) even if they don't have a snowballs' chance in you know where in winning. At least I will feel clean after I vote.

Get a new boss

How very strange .If I as a manager asked my staff how they were going to vote I would get a two word reply ( the second word would score 9 at Scrabble here in the UK ) or I would expect people to lie.
What biz is it of his ??

Sister Dianek, no need to get upset, wont help you with anything, people have different opinions, take this site for example at times we argue like there is no tomorrow., so just be yourself and vote for whoever you feel in your bones will make a difference.
And it is a big shame for politics taking center stage at work, that manager should have just kept his mouth shut.
