How many times can people be asked and reminded to stay away from

abbreviations and SLANG in their posts?

Brothers/Sisters, people from different countries and with different levels of

proficiency in English visit this site, why do they have to decipher the

abbreviations and what we mean by slang phrases.

I don't know, but personally I think people who use slang are trying to

emulate speech of those whose example should not be followed.

PLEASE, think of the visitors of this site ,Muslims and non-Muslims

alike. We represent Islam and how we speak and write DOES matter!

You took the words direct from my mouth!(I was going to post those exact words, slang and abbreviations) really it is quite annoying when people do not listen, we have teenagers here and adults alike but please refrain from bad language. Did you know what comes out of your mouth is a reflection of your character?
and i see many using words that i cannot print i see only stars for those words.
please stop this, it is showing a bad example

Personally, I don't like the lazy use of 'pbuh', as if the statement, 'peace be upon him', is too much effort, nor the placing of this in brackets (parenthases), as if to diminish it's importance.

unfortunately in many cases it is true but I have noticed many adults do it on

this site. Most interesting thing is when people who speak English as a second

language are trying to speak slang. Joke! If someone would give dawah to me

like that I would not even listen to this person, actually I try not to listen to

them at all. If one intentionally doesn't want to speak properly ( so others can

understand him/her) why would someone listen to dawah given by this

person? If one emulates bad-example of speech what does that say to others

about the person? Did Muhammad or his companions ( blessings of Allah be upon

them all) speak like that?

We are whom we are trying to emulate.

You'r right concerning the lazy (pbuh), even the arab scholers talked about it being written in arabic in even more lazy form (P - ص), they said it's wrong. But regarding the brackets, there's nothing wrong about it, it's written in arabic this way, even in most authentic elm (knowledge) books, being an interceptive sentence, and this doesn't in any way diminsh its importance.

It all comes down to manners, bad language breads bad manners

OLD HABITS DIE HARD i guess..

its a hype under the somewhat younger people in this world to use slang language and abbreviations. the so called VIP's do this..so naturally they follow them since they are '' so cool ''
this site attracts a big amount of young visitors, so i guess this problem wont be solved that easy...not to say younger people shouldnt be aware of what they do etc..THEY SHOULD! if anyone was to benefit from this site, than we must accept advice and help from our brothers and sisters inshallah!
