Message for TTI posters in Kuwait

Salam

This is specific for the posters in Kuwait (I know that there are a few on here!).

Well, I will be brief - does anyone want a kitten?

My husband rescued some tiny baby kittens the end of March (they were in a box in the trash) who didn't even have their eyes open yet.

We syringe & bottle fed them, pottied them, litter trained them, and they are very social and very much house cats. They have been for 2 vet checkups but are still a bit too young for their first vaccinations.

If you are in Kuwait and would like a kitten, or know someone who would like a nice lovely kitten, please post back for more details.

I have sent their pictures and info to [####] (that is the animal rescue shelter here in Kuwait) so hopefully they can help me as well.

I will attach a picture (just to tug the heart strings!)

Hey, I put it in the "Lounge" section, since they kitties were just lounging around!! LOL! You better be careful, Osman, or you may get a kitten in the mail!

And the poor little kittens are God's creatures - I just hope that I can find them nice loving homes! My husband has done this to me with 7 kittens now - he keeps rescuing them, and then tells me, "I saved their lives, now you find them homes!"

All my teacher friends that like cats have already rescued cats here in Kuwait! As the Kuwait TTI'ers know, there are feral cats everywhere in Kuwait, and many people rescue the kittens from life on the streets, but others who find kittens in their yards or gardens just kill them.

One of the schools that I worked at here had a problem with feral cats pooping in the school playground sandbox. So, instead of trapping the cats (which is what my school in Wisconsin did when there was a stray cat living on the playground), this Kuwait school put out POISON (did I mention it was in a school playground?!?!)!! BUT the poison didn't kill the cats, it just made them really sick, so then there were sick cats vomitting and with diarrhea on the playground (although the poison did kill lots of birds and mice, which the children found as little dead corpses around the playground over the next 2 weeks!)

So, I love cats, as does my husband, and we try our best to rescue kittens and make them healthy and give them to people who want nice pets (and who will get them "fixed" so they don't have more babies!).

Boy, I sure got off-track! LOL!

This thread reminded me of an incident that i can never forget.

Here's the story..

It was around 10 am .. I was coming from a store.. I saw a kitten trying to enter our house. He was very weak. So i though i'd feed him(first time showing some sort of affection towards cats because my mum is allergic to cats). The kitten was so cute and fragile .. I fell in love with it instantly. I've always wondered why kids in my place used to hit animals for no reason. Anyways i took a bowl of milk and some rice and fed the cat. I got emotional because i thought from nowhere ALLAH(SWT) gave me a sweet friend to take care off.. But to my utter surprise i saw my mum reacting to my behaviour towards the cat. She said "you are not gonna keep him here are you?" i didn't say much.. I was just caressing him. Anyways i had to go out for some work and when i returned back. The first thing that i did was check on him and he wasn't there. Mum had told the maid servant to take the kitten with him. It was raining hard. I checked the street for the kitten and found him drenched and shivering.. Took him back dried him . Made a small place for him to relax. Later that day my lil bro told me.. The owner took the kitten dragging by the neck with a rope and took him away (they were lookin for it and my cousins gave them away). Wallahi tears rolled out as if i lost someone i loved dearly.. Was wondering the whole day ..why a friend whom i met so suddenly was taken away from me.. Sorry if it was boring.. I just couldn't help myself. The meow of the kitten is still echoing my ears..

Nehad.
