THE GRAVE CALLS OUT

The grave calls out:

O dwellers of the earth, you have focused on building a realm that will soon pass away, and you have neglected the realm to which you are moving quickly.

You have built houses in which others will live and enjoy, and you have neglected houses for which there are no other inhabitants but you.

This is the place where you will abide and bid farewell to work and toil. This is what matters, one of the gardens of Paradise or one of the chambers of Hell…

(Ibn AlQayyim's Al-Rooh)

NB Why don't we all seize the opportunity of Ramadan to make it a garden of Paradise. HAPPY RAMADAN

Its a good reminder... in my bed room there is only one picture and thats one with a freshly dug out grave waiting for a body. It helps remind me of death and judgement and thus gives my imaan a boost and not get waylaid by the "glitters" of this world.

:salam2:brother.Your picture reminds me of one of the salaf who had dug a hole , big enough for his body , in his room, where he would lie down every night, before going to bed to remind himself of this abode and to hold himself accountable for his daily deeds before they would be judged on the day of Judgment.May our graves be rooms of Paradise and may we all be granted jannat al firdaus without being judged.:tti_sister:Ameen

Subhanallah! I got scared with the first post itself and the second one 'grave' in the room itself! This thread reminded me of this nasheed Last Breath - Ahmed Bukhatir. Jazakallahu khair for this very important reminder. Assalamoalaikum.
