Salam alaikum brother Shaheer,

They are called the Abyssinians. In the fifth year of his mission, Muhammad (pbu) advised his followers and new converts to leave the country and seek refuge from the persecution of the idolaters among the Christian people of Abyssinia. Muhammad and a few stalwart followers remained in Makkah and suffered misery and oppression, but still their number continued to increase.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Before the revelation of prophet Muhammed (PBUH), Islam was basicaly abouty "La Ilaha Illa Allah". of which few christians and jews believed in, and denied the claim that Jesus (AS) is God's son or that he was a god. some of those existed even shotry after the revelation. Those are called "Al-Muwahideen" (from Tawhid (Arabic: توحيد tawḥīd "doctrine of Oneness [of God ]";)

Then, after the revelation Islam became about "La Ilaha Illa Allah, Muhammdan Rasolu Allah". where some of them believed in Muhammed (PBUN) as a Prophet and a messenger of Allah. and stayed muslims.

but those who denied The fact that Muhammed is a messenger of Allah, are Kufaar.

I hope this answers your question.

:salam2: Brother,

All of them are not alike. Some of the groups among the people of the book have stayed upright (and on the right path). They recite the verses of Allah in the small hours of the night and fall prostrate (before Him). (3:113)

And among the People of the Book some believe in Allah and what has been revealed to you, and what has been revealed to them. They humble themselves before Allah, and do not sell Allah's revelations for a small price. For these men their reward is with their Lord. Allah is swift in His reckoning. (3:199)

Is that what you were looking for???
