Assalaamu alaykum

I think, whenever someone says "SallaLlahu alayhi wa sallam" you just have to say "sallaLlahu alayhi wa sallam" as the person said.

Theres also some people who instead of sallaLlahu alayhi wa sallam say : "alayhi assalaatu wa ssalaam" (on him (the prophet saws) is prayer and peace)
