SAllam Allaikum,
MAshallah, Mashallah! I now have an understanding of what the video is about. I really appreciate it. May Allah greatly reward you. Sheikh Jaber was a excellent reciter of the Quran, and with a God-given voice. You can search Youtube for his recitals and you might also like his recitations. Alhamdulillah!

Can you explain what was-salaam means and how it is used.

(wa salaam )

it's a short word of the full sentence (Peace and mercy of God be upon you) السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته . it's an islamic greeting
but people here make it short as waslamm . they dont wirte the full sentence.
alothough it's better to write it because u will reward for every letter .

it used when u finshed ur talking or ur subject u write it at the end. and some people say waslam on the phone instead of saying good bye or (maa salama ) in arabic

i hope u understand my explaination .

But Wafeeka Barak is acceptable right ?

So same applies with replying to "Jazakalluhu khayran"

"Wa Jazaka Feek" or "Feeka Jazak"

wa feeka barak .. hmmm not a perfect one . wa baraka feek is better .
to reply jazaka Allahu khayeran , you say : wa eyak ( and you too )

the replies you said is not right :)

Can you explain what was-salaam means and how it is used.

As what my sis Hana mentioned , it's an abbriviation , I only saw it here on TTI .

wa = and , Assalam = the peace .

in pronounciation you say : wassalam .
means and the peace ( something like and the peace to you too )

but I'd rather not to use it , wa alaikom assalam is better .

I hope you got it my brother :)

But I`ll take what you said Inshallah.

In Saudi Arabia do people say "Ayyuwa" for yes at times or do they always say "Na`am" ?

One more thing I kinda understood your reply to Hana18

"Allahuma Ameen (So be it Oh ALlah)
Peace be upon you my dear on your explanation (Sharh) and your invitation (kinda)
and ........ more also (Aydan)"

I prefer using Fos'ha Arabic here , I wanna IbnUthaymin and the rest to understand what we say , you know our classic dialect is a kinda difficult for the forigeners :)

Why ?? is there something wrong in my explaination ? :)

we say ayywah , eeeh , both means YES .. but it's in the classic Arabic .

The word Ei إي means yes and it's in the Fos'ha Arabic , actually it's mentioned in the Quran .

Salemti = may Allah make u safe ... I and many use it instead of shokran :)
salemta is for male .

da'awat = the plural of du'a .. it's also means invitations but in this sentence means du'a .

try to translate the rest .. your Arabic seems good masha Allah :)

Hmm i heard Shiekh Albani say it ...or (now) i think i heard him say it.

Fosha arabic is the Quranic arabic right? My teacher said if i write "Ayyuwa" in my exam or use it orally i will get zero marks.

and i dont know what "Jazayti" means. But its intended for female without a doubt.

Yes it is , actually it's the correct Arabic , the classic Arabic which we use nowadays is 98 % wrong .

yes you'll get ZERO bcz it's wrong , it's in the classic Arabic . write Na'am or Ei .. but na'am is better for you as a learner , I don't know if ur teacher knows Ei is a Fos'ha word .

It's : Jouzeta ( male ) Jouzeti ( female )
it's the same as Jazaki \ Jazaka BUT the jouzeti\ jouzeta are Passive
it's like : May you be rewarded
jazaka : reward u .

Got it ? :)

I meant grammatically :)

No it's not the same .
I forgot what is it in English but one of them is passive the another one is .... ( I forgot )

For example : I eat the apple ( like : Jazaka Allahu khayeran )
The apple is eaten ( like : jouzeta khaeyran )

The mudhaf is like : The door of the class :
Mudhaf is Door , Mudhaf elayhi is The Class .

In Arabic : Babu Al-Fasli
Bab is the mudhaf , Al-fasl is the Mudhaf elayhi .

I hope you understood me ?
