Assalamu'alaykum wa rahmatullaah

At-Tirmidhee and Ibn Majah narrated that `Atiyah As-Sa`di said that the Messenger of Allaah :saw: said:

لَا يَبْلُغُ الْعَبْدُ أَنْ يَكُونَ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ حَتَّى يَدَعَ مَالَا بَأْسَ بِهِ حَذَرًا مِمَّا بِهِ بَأْس

"The servant will not acquire the status of the Muttaqeen until he abandons what is harmless out of fear of falling into that which is harmful"​

Assalamu'alaykum,

It was reported that `Umar bin Al-Khattab asked Ubayy bin Ka`b about Taqwa. Ubayy said, "Have you ever walked on a path that has thorns on it'' `Umar said, "Yes.'' Ubayy said, "What did you do then'' He said, "I rolled up my sleeves and struggled" Ubayy said, "That is Taqwa"​

Assalamu'alaykum,

"O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily, the earthquake of the Hour is a terrible thing. The Day you shall see it, every nursing mother will forget her nursling, and every pregnant one will drop her load, and you shall see mankind as in a drunken state, yet they will not be drunk, but Allah's torment is severe." Baarak Allaahu feeki. The TV is hardly harmless. Perhaps a better example is to avoid sitting in a gathering out of fear that brothers or sisters will engage into too much idle-talk, as often happens these days? Allaah knows best.

Yes..... Exactly
or in the case of women... Avoiding the simplest of adornments in their clothing...even though one is in hijab..out of fear of causing the slightest deviation. Or maybe avoiding a profession that is apparently halal.. But may lead to haram things.

JazakAllahu Khairan for sharing the beautiful Hadith...... It made me think.

We do come across many situations in our daily lives, where we feel a bit quesy about doing something seemingly harmless.....and it may have some unprecedented harm in store. I guess it's for us to experience, choose and benefit from.

Assalaam walaikum,

Please do not be upset with us if we are Americans. We just have to strive harder.

Women are going to be women no matter what. If we decorate our hijab with a dimunitive little pin..it eases the tension of being Muslim in America. I am greeted with a smile and not a barrel of a gun.
