:salam2: ask in 3rd person gramatik form or Speak in the tone of third person, like "I know a person who......" .. or Like a person prays so and so much, or he faces this and that.

it is Allah's grace on you that you want to hide ur good deeds. but gaining knowledge is necessary.

you can not stop praying salah, wearing hijab, respecting parents due to fear of ppl's praise, then same will go for Islamic knowledge as well.

these thoughts will keep coming but it will be ok inshallah if you fight them with all might and power. maybe these thoughts are frm shaitan to stop you frm coming near to Allah's pleasure and His reward.

pondering over that in grave nobody will be with you, on day of judgment you will stand alone, etc. will surely help you in controlling desire for ppl's praise inshallah.

and dua's as they are a believer's weapon

These thoughts are human. As long as they don't become the reason you do the good deeds, you should not shy away from asking about what you don't know, because knowledge is very important and staying in the dark about some issues could hurt your faith.

no not the reason.....just that i fear it may go to my head......jazakallah khaira.yeah brother you are probably right!!!guess it's better to know

Assalam aleikum,

Alternatively, try and humble yourself. And when you hear someone praising you, dismiss it quickly and bear no attention to it and force yourself to remember your errors and weaknesses. You can also make the du3a Abu Bakr [ra] used to make when people would praise him, he would say:'O Allah, don't hold me responsible for that which they say, make me better then that which they think of me.And forgive me for that which they don't know."
,

Take care =]
