Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
hope that all brothers and sister are in the best state of Eemaan and health,

I've seen my school time friend, after a gap of 8years.....anyways...when she was passing me,I recognized her....100%(and I knew that she is now in my town/country...anyways...).....mashaa'Allah she was in Hijaab, she was looking so modest and her lowering gaze just make my lips to say.....subhanAllah and I read out in silence "asshadu Allah ilaha Illallahu wahdahu la shari kala, wasshadu anna muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluhu..."

she hasnt seen me and she wouldnt recognize me coz I've also got a lot of changes...mashaa'Allah......as I'm keeping my beard..inshaa'Allah....and I didnt make her stop/didnt want to talk....coz she might not take it normal or she would have just avoid me(thinking of that Im a local one).....or I didnt want to make her feel insecured there in the public...as she was in her Hijab...it is her right to be honored....i gave her that...inshaa'Allah

May Allah bless her and give her the power to fight the evils of society ...especially my society...coz i know...how evil///it is...

May Allah bless us all...and guide us

Jazakallahu Khairan wa brakallahu feeke

Aameen. You did the right thing by leaving her alone. My Muslim friends from my primary school are not practicing and I'm quite surprised actually because I remember some of them used to preach a lot. Anyway, I didn't know Qatar was a evil society, or are you talking about Bangladesh? :/ Bangladesh has changed a lot compared to before, it's no different than living in England, except England is more modern.

الحمدلله على كل حال
Alhamdulillahi Rabb Al-Alameen.

It is better that she is wearing hijaab now eventhough she wasnt previously rather than a woman wearing hijaab because of cultural practices. Nauthobillah, I'm not trying to back-bite but thats what happen when a woman doesnt know the virtue behind wearing hijaab - They will wear it on and off. As if there are specific times to wear and not to wear it.

InshaAllaah that would be our responsibilty to explain to them that of the maa'roof. May Allaah give us the wisdom and strengths to do so.

lowering gaze is not ONLY for Women. Allah said to MEN first to lower their gaze

Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allah is All-Aware of what they do. (Surah An-Nur :verse 30)

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like palms of hands or one eye or both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful. (Surah An-Nur :verse 31)

Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri:
The Prophet said, 'Beware! Avoid sitting on the roads." They (the people) said, "O Allah s Apostle! We can't help sitting (on the roads) as these are (our places) here we have talks." The Prophet said, ' l f you refuse but to sit, then pay the road its right ' They said, "What is the right of the road, O Allah's Apostle?" He said, 'Lowering your gaze, refraining from harming others, returning greeting, and enjoining what is good, and forbidding what is evil."
Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 74 :: Hadith 248

Jareer ibn ‘Abdullaah said: “I asked the Messenger of Allaah (saw) about an accidental glance at a woman. He commanded me to turn my gaze away.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, who said: This is a saheeh hasan hadeeth. See al-Sunan, 2700)

The Messenger of Allaah (saw) said: “O Ali, do not follow a glance with another, for you will be forgiven for the first, but not for the second.” (Reported by al-Tirmidhi, 2701; see Saheeh al-Jaami’, 7953)
