A question for Pakistanis/ people from muslim countries

:salam2:wa rahamtullahi wa baraaktuhu!!

me again!!:)

okay may be you can do some search about it!!

in pak there is a group called the jamat-e-islami or something like that.these guys belive beard is must for men but since the lenght was not mentioned by the prophet specifically,a man keeping a short beard is doing just as fine as the one with long one....one palm lenght or whatever it is!!!

so i just thought may be you can shorten yours even if the above concept is in doubt.atleast you won't be completely beard free which is very much against sunnah.like a niqaabi girl removes niqab and continues hijaab!!instead of removing both.

so maybe shorten it.....

:salam2: sister,

Maybe those jammat e islami people did not read this hadiths.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:

Allah's Apostle said, "Cut the moustaches short and leave the beard (as it is)." [ Bukhari :: Book 7 :: Volume 72 :: Hadith 781 ]

Ibn Umar said: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered us to trim the moustache closely and spare the beard. [Muslim :: Book 2 : Hadith 499 ]

ansari

STRANGER...
:salam2:

My parents are forcing me to shave my beard again and very heated about it again.

Is it true that in Pakistan, people who have beard are being targeted, or being used to kill others or being killed specifically.

My parents always say its unsafe as a Pakistani to have a beard someone will do something to be or get me involved in a wrong group. My parents say their target is mostly people in their early 20's like me

What is the real thing? since im not in Pakistan and my parents are so i cant say much and recently due to the recent bomb blast on the mosque belonging to Ahmedi sect my parents say like its the people with beard who do this stuff....

Any help?

akhi they argue that it isn't specifically mentionedit says leave the beard......leave it completely or to a certain lenght.it's not menioned.

i was just passing their opnion.i already said i didn't know much about this.

my point:a completely beardless man is just as ridiculous as a hijaabless girl.if like sis revert said niqaab can be removed and hijaab continued then i just thought the same can be said about beard-an important difference between the appearance of man and women:)!!

there is a differance btween a short bearded man and clean shaven idiot!!

i just posted the hadiths which tell us about the beard that Men must spare their BEARD.

If Jammat e Islami people argue about the length of the beard then There is really something wrong with them because its clearly mentioned in the hadiths
Ibn Umar said: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) ordered us to trim the moustache closely and spare the beard. [Muslim :: Book 2 : Hadith 499 ]
" spare the beard " yaani LEAVE IT ALONE... and many scholars have agreed that minimum length for beard is one fist.

-------------------------------------------------------

Is there any recommended length of the beard?

Question:
is there any recommended length of the beard traceable from Prophet Muhammad SAAW

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

There is no recommended or specified length of the beard, because nothing to that effect has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). What has been reported is that the beard should be left as it is.

Muslim (2344) reported that Jaabir ibn Samurah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: “The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to have a very hairy beard.”

An-Nisaa’ (5232) reported from al-Baraa’ that he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had a thick beard; according to another report, he had a bushy beard; according to another report, he had a wide beard.

Some scholars permit cutting the hair of the beard that exceeds the amount that may be grasped in the fist, because Ibn ‘Umar did this; but most of the scholars regard this as makrooh, which is more apparent because of the reports referred to above.

Al-Nawawi said: the best is to leave it as it is and not touch it or shorten it at all. (Tuhfat al-Ahwadhi, 8/39).

- As for the hadeeth, “He used to reduce the length and width (of his beard)” – this is a false and fabricated hadeeth.

See al-‘Ilal al-Mutanaahiyah by Ibn al-Jawzi, 2/686

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day…” [al-Ahzaab 33:21]

“And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad) gives you, take it; and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it).” [al-Hashr 59:7]

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah preserve him) said: The definition of the beard as stated by the scholars of (Arabic) language is: the hair of the face, jawbone and cheeks, in the sense that all the hair on the cheeks, jawbone and chin is part of the beard and removing any of it is counted as a sin, because the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Let your beards grow,” “Leave your beards alone,” “Let your beards increase,” “Let your beards be full.” This indicates that it is not permissible to remove anything from the beard. But the sin may vary in degree – shaving the beard is worse than shortening it, because it is a more obvious contradiction of the Sunnah.

And Allaah knows best

yeah...same here in Bangladesh.....may Bangladesh is just at the second row after Pakistan...or in a same row...sida by siade...he he.....in case of suspecting list......:D

but otherwise i will keep a short beard for now and inshallah i will grow it more as time proceed..

yes you can do that....as you've seen the vdo of Dr.Zakir...though most of the scholars say...leave it....means dont touch(I mean touch it to cut it...lolz) it......though it depends on the situation...I think youve seen it in Dr. bilal's VDO

but I think if I'm going to asked by someone...why I'm keeping your beard?...I'll just answer...If had grew my hair long...no probs there...if I had grew my mustache long...therse no prob...why there's a problem when I grow my BEARD?.....I;ll ask him/her to dont attack the Human Rights...Im prepared to do so.....may Allah help me to overcome such evil threats

just so unfortunate that muslims are treated this way and i feel for my mom she is very far from me so she gets very worried so i have decided not to tell her.
Yes I also think so too....when I'll be going to leave for Finland....my mom sure gonna worry a lot about me.......may ALlah SWT let her tansion free....and your mom too....

Inshallah taala may Allah (swt) keep all the muslims under his protections - ameen

akhi in that fatwa it says the lenght is not specified and in your message you say scholars agree on one fist lenght..........sounds pretty strange.

another Q:if you are to take the meaning of spare the beard like that.then shouldn't all pious muslim men be in competition with dumbledore.i hardly see any.

Assalaam walaikum,

Brother..hold on to the Rope of Allah. As Muslims we are targeted. Over twenty years ago I could not travel without being stripped searched. I have had my suitcases torn open. I have had gifts ripped and broken. I have had my passport confiscated. I had to get ugly and American. I have yelled and screamed to the point that I have caused commotions. Why, because I was a single Muslim woman traveling alone. The morons thought I was some spy!!
This happened constantly.

In department stores you will be followed. Racial profiling is common in the States. Be Muslim get into your car and start the engine..and the police drop everything to make sure they bully you. You can have robberies, rape, murder, domestic disputes..NO...there is a Muslim getting into a car.

I have not understood what is so scary about Paki's. Maybe there are so many of us. ( I still claim to be Pakistani ).

A beard is a mark of a Muslim man...but it does not matter...beard or not there must be some glow on the face of a Muslim. And it drives the kuffir crazy.

May Allah subhana talla give you energy. It makes me very proud to know that the Muslim youth think about pleasing Allah.

:salam2:, i guess you are from Jammat e islami because you are arguing with me now about the length of the Beard. you are a sister, maybe you don't know much about the beard but if you ask any brother here they will say minimum length is one fist and its better to leave it.

when we DON'T read full fatwa then comes the problem.

There is no recommended or specified length of the beard, because nothing to that effect has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). What has been reported is that the beard should be left as it is.

lol....you got cranky.i was just asking.yeah guess a girl shouldn't poke into gys problems.i got no problem with beard lenghts but your post seemed to contradiced itself so i asked.sorry about being offensive bahi wasn't my intentions.

and then it says later one fist lenght so i posed a Q and akhi ansari makes me a member fo jamat-e-islami......secondly i wanted to know shouldn't leaving it alone like he says make all pious muslim men dumbledores!!!leaving it alone can also mean don't trim it like you do with your mustache..that's that.

lol i follow the Quran and sunnah ansari bhai and respect anyone who may do so.the rest of what he does, believes is none of my concern,it's between him and his lord:)
