:salam2: ,

I know that it haram to have physical contact with men (in my case), but the other day i was in a bus, there was an old man who had some diffuculties to walk his way through (it was very busy), i stood up, i wanted to help him and give my seat to him, but he looked at me and just walked past. And afterwards i remembered that maybe i shouldn't have give him a hand!!
I had my gloves on though, so my question is if i have my gloves on can shake hands with men???

:wasalam:

May Allah bless you all with goodness.

Is a woman sinning if she shakes hands with a man?

Question:
Is a woman sinning if she shakes hands with a man when she is wearing gloves?

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

It is not permissible for a woman to shake hands with a non-mahram man even if she is wearing gloves or she shakes hands from under a cloth or abayah. All of that counts as shaking hands even if there is some kind of barrier.

Well, May Allah(t) give you endless rewards for having a clean niyah and being taqva by not giving your hand even you had your gloves.
Well, in general we would advise as your muslim brothers and siters for not giving your hand a men.
So, to an old man is it possible or not you could discuss about that, but in your case I think the best healty decision is in your case by the next time not giving your hands, because if someone is so unpolite and won't accept the seat, which is given to him, i guess the heart of this one is not ok.
So don't be sad how I sad my ALLAH(jj) strenthen you in the way of sirat'al mustakeem:hearts:

Salam,

Sister you had mentioned that he was an "old man who had some difficulties to walk". Your intentions were good at heart and Allah looks in our hearts to see how pure it is and exactly what our intentions are. Regardless if this man seemed ungrateful that you were going to give up your seat, you will still be rewarded for your good intentions towards this old man.

When you gave him your hand simply to help him, It's not as if you were set out to shake his hand, you simply wanted to help this poor old man and give up your seat for him. I'm sure you know of the hadith where the Prophet (PBUH) used to walk past a house everyday, and in this house lived this old Jewish lady that used to throw out her garbage at the Prophet (PBUH) when ever he walked by. Everyday she would do the same thing, simply because she didn’t like the Prophet (PBUH) until one day he walked passed the house and noticed that there wasn't any garbage thrown at him. He was concerned by this and knocked on the old ladies house and found she was sick and she was quite surprised to see that the Prophet (PBUH) had taken the time to visit her especially after the way she had been treating him.

An old man that can’t walk properly is like seeing a disabled man struggling to walk; there is no harm in helping those who are in need of our help. People in the past used to be tested by Allah. Allah used to send down Angels disguised as old poor people. Once Allah sent a man, the man would go knocking on people’s houses begging for food and shelter. Many people turned this old man away, only for one man whose heart was pure and felt pity for the old man knocking on his door. He gave him food and shelter, and of course he was the only one to pass Allah’s test and Allah rewarded him with Jannah for his good intentions.

Salam alai kum

inna mal 'amaalu bi-niyatii
everything is by intention. So if you were trying to helpout the old man and the only way was to hold his hands, then that is that.Besides his an old man really who has any interest in them. anyways there's a blind man who comes to my work and needs help going to the bathroom(just finding it) and it be unkind of me to refuse to help him.
