Controversial: The Taj Mahal

I was just reading some material about the shirk of grave worship, and how it is wrong to erect a struture over a grave, or write on it, or decorate it and so forth. And it briefly mentioned the Taj Mahal, and I realized - that's right, its a huge structure built OVER a grave. It's a maosoleum.... So I was just shocked. How could a muslim ruler have built this? I understand of course, muslims stray away from the true path, but still...

actually i read that aurangzeb, son of shah jahan is more islamic among moghals. he even abolished music from court room. but i dont know how authentic these informations are..

according to my school texts, he jailed him because shah jahan wasted the state's money on taj mahal. but Allah knows best.

Yeh my friend told me about aurengzeb recently apparently he was very very religious and on the straight path. May Allah have mercy on him.

salam alaikum

yeah, I've read in history book and also I've heard from Indians, that Aurangzeb jailed his father for wasting money. Shah jahan was about to build another Taj mahal, black tajmahal, on the other side of the river, so Aurangzeb jailed him and he was also more Islamic minded.

though it has become a tourist spot, but yet mamny people go there thinking that it is a sacred place of Muslims, because the gate of the taj is decorated with Ayah's of Quran. I've heard many people doing dua for them to be rest in peace!

I don't know why many people take this as a symbol of love? I with my three frnds went there, but didn;t enter the taj mahal. and my frnds were like: you are being extremist, where is the harm to get in and just look.
I said: what I can't support for my religious reason and what is bad in sense of Islam,I can't get there even just for caring others' feeling.

so i waited outside, they later met me at the gate.
