Is it alowed to use seam for cure?

Inshallah you all are in the best state of taqwa and health.

I have question about useing seam for cure. My aunt is having problems with her lungs, and she is useing seam, as she said it is the best cure for the lungs.In the last days I got flue and I cought, and my aunt adviced me to use seam like cure. I have told her that it is haram in Islaam because it is unpure, but she sais it may be halal because it is for health.I do not wish to use it as I feel afraid it may be haram.

Dear brothers and sisters can you please tell me Islamic view about this.?Inshallah.

And I ask humbly to please make dua for mine and my aunt health.

Sister, what is seam ?

In general any thing can become Halal if it is needed to save life or to cure a desease, even if normally this thing is Haram.

Alcohal can become halal if it is really needed as a medicine.

If a person has nothing to eat then pig meat or dog meat or even rat or snake etc etc become halal to save the life of that person. After that it become haram again.

So this is the general principle.

If you are talking about STEAMING then I think there is no problem with it.. You see.. steaming is some thing where you boil the water with herbs and then let the steam touch your face.. and of course for kids you allow the steam to touch their chest and then you breath the boiled air so that it will heal you..

If you are talking about this, then there is no problem with it I guess..

BUT If you are talking about some thing else.. then plz do explain us dear..

anyways, I thing brother Munawar has explained it well, to add a little:
if any doctor advices so, I think one can go with that, even if that is haram.
otherwise not.

I have also find this expression for fat of pigs on google and I thought it was correct.

I will visit doctor Inshallah, but the most of doctors say it is the best cure for lungs and that it is helping much more than other ways of healing.

sometimes a doctor advises some medicine containing some haram things in its contents, in-spite of availability of other drugs which can replace that drug and contains only halal content...
so I would suggest if you can confirm for the availability of its alternative...
otherwise there is no harm in using this as a medicine...

I am not an expert on pigs fat... But it is hard for me to believe that pig fat (also known as LARD) can be used as a cure for a desease. And even if pig fat is used in any medicine then if the same medicine is made with cow fat or goat fat, it should be equally effective, probably even more effective than medicine made with pig fat.

If a haram thing has a clear advantage which no other thing could provide then it is an another matter and could be allowed, but in in this case pig fat does not provide the advantage which other halal animal fat cannot.

So this "seam" or pig fat cannot be used and therefore it will be haram to consume it, In My Humble Opinion.

Can you not make this medicine using the fat of any other halal animal?

Before posting my thread, I thought that fat of pigs is haram to use for cure, but I have only wanted to make sure it is really like that, with respected opinions of brothers and sisters here.And I thought it may be halal because it is for the health. That is why I have asked.

Alhadmulillah, I have already made deccission that I will not use fat of pigs like cure Inshallah , because I know it is haram and unpure, as there is alternative for this cure,and it is not for the sake of saving life.

May Allah reword you once again dear brother for your effort in explaining me,and other brothers and sisters as well for their help.
