islam is the fastest growing religion DESPITE the muslims.
our actions & behaviour are the biggest obstacle to more people accepting islam, imagine if all the muslims were righteous, how many more people would accept islam?

the problem is that we are the worst examples of what a muslim ought to be.

Assalam Alaikum:

There are many in my family who can't deny that Islam is the straight path to Almighty. But despite intense efforts I couldn't teach them to discriminate between the so called Muslims and Islam.

Asalaamu alaikum. I have to admit, this comment is 100% correct. I took shahadah in Dec 2008 and since then I've seen an estimated 25 or 30 or so also take shahadah. Converts tend to gravitate to each other. Since I took shahadah, the converts who had befriended me and those who converted after me have almost all disappeared from the masjid. My best friend, who embraced Islam about 2 years before I did, no longer goes to the masjid other than on Fridays. He says he's treated either as "the golden child" (ie, the "token white guy") or he's never right (meaning, with every move he makes 15 contradicting brothers try to correct him).

I still have brothers who try to follow me to the shoe rack after salaat with the intent to correct me on some transgression I made during prayer. These are the same brothers who make no effort to give me the salaam.

Assalam Alaikum:

I don't understand what difference does it make even if Islam wasn't growing exponentially.Truth is truth whether followed by billions or by few hundreds. The label ''Islam is the fastest growing religion" sounds with an imperialistic tone. Imaan,Taqwa and devotion to Allah (SWT) are individual concerns.

" Islam will rule the world " this too sounds imperialistic. Posters of this labels appear frequently in demonstrations by Muslims in West.

'' Islam will shine the World ''........... thats what I would create a poster of.

Regards.

bro, please understand, that just because these people were born muslim, does not mean that they dont come with their own baggage too or that they are correct.
its mostly the people from the Indo-Pak subcontinent that im referring to here.
they have too much of culture, customs & traditions that are mixed in with their understanding of Islam.

they will continue to observe you will try to "correct" you according to their own ideals.
they mean well- despite not offering salaam but just bear with them.
in a way, they are like new muslims too. lol.

you should have a sheikh/aalim/scholar whom you trust & ask him all your questions etc.
if anyone tells you something you are not sure or confused about, just consult this scholar and this will set your mind at ease, insha allah
