Selam kardeşler,
First I would like to introduce my self a little bit. I am a Turkish-Muslim(Grown up by Alevi principles) and I live in the Netherlands.
Sometimes I actually fear to go to hell. Why? For example: I don't pray that much and I live in a 'Western' style.
But are things like praying that important? I once spoke to a Imam in Turkey and he said that the most important thing is being a good human being, that you can for example: be friends with Christians just accept them the way they are, don't lie, help your friends etc.
I actually am a good human being at least I believe and he said that something like that is enough and that the rules of the Sharia are just guidelines but that you don't need to follow them necessarily.
But someone else told me that things like that 'is just wrong talk' and that praying actually is a duty while another person tells me that you don't need to show your love to Allah by praying because he already knows that you love him and that you are a good human.
So I am a little bit confused, do I actually get punished for not praying but being a good human being on the same time?
Thank you for reading and helping.
