Narrated Abu Qatada Al-Ansari:
(a companion of the Prophet and one of his cavalry men) "I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan; so, if anyone of you had a bad dream which he disliked, then he should spit on his left and seek refuge with Allah from it, for it will not harm him."

salam 'alikum,it's not the first time that I like to express my way to see the dreams,I've no lycense to do it,but remember that also Sigmund Freud gave made a self-interpretation of his dreams and nowdays if somebody wants to become a specialyst in this domain,he should at least know how Freud interpreted his dreams...in this forum I found a way to post my opinions too and if somebody asks for an interpretation,he surely know that in this forum there aren't any expert in dreams,but just simple members who try to answer...If I'm wrong,please delete my posts and I'll stop answering to these kind of threads

Sister, I am glad you mentioned Freud.
A layperson can not interpret dreams. Freud and, his one time brilliant colleague, Jung devoted years and years of work before they developed the theories which are the bedrocks for dream interpretation. They psychoanalyzed each other.
But, let me get to the crux of the issue. In developing the theories they entered into some dangerous territory. They slept with each others wives and students. They experimented with hallucinogenic drugs. They played with the dark arts. What started out as a serious approach to understanding the psyche was colluded with mantras, circles, archetypes pulled out of mythology in drug induced states.
Interpreting dreams is one of the therapeutic treatments used in psychoanalysis.

I'm not what you believe
the prophet Yusuf AS,could interpret dreams thanks to Allah's guidance.I can also suppose that the most part of people give a personal interpretaion of a dream,basing their ideas on an own feeling.As for jinn matter.I arrived to know many things,trying also to give advice to get healed,but I'm not an Imam.otherwise I know many things about them...about dreams...it's the same,but always I pose every my word to Allah's judge.I don't joke.I'm only one who has got a knowledge from alternative sources,but I don't believe at 100% in what I see and hear,and you too,you only take my words like a fantasious tale,ok?don't be angry with me.I have nobody to talk to and this place is the only one solution to my desire to escape from the monotony

And I see how hungry you are to learn. I was trying to explain very briefly why we need to be careful of taking the symbols of dreams from psychoanalysis.
In fact, psychoanalysis is so expensive that most insurances do not cover this kind of therapy. It is for the very very rich.

Speaking of dreams, I hardly have any. After a hard day at work, I sleep like a log. Don't know if it is a gift or a disadvantage. Sometimes, I find it hard to believe when people say they dreamt this and that. My mother once told me that she dreamt of tanks and missiles and military personnel in front of my house. I told her that she should stop watching too much news and reading newspaper.. lol.

I figured out it was lack of sleep that gives me dream deprivation. And lets focus on the Muslim end of the spectrum.
A dream from Allah subhana wa taala is a gift. On the few occasions that I have been rewarded with such a gift they have carried me for months at a time.
You can make yourself receptive to a dream. I am too lazy most of the time.

That was funny part bro about your advise to your mother. You don't get dreams because your busy at your work and your subconscious mind isn't idle to have any other thoughts. So in the end you get a good sleep after a heavy work with no dreams.
Whenever your worried about a situation or occupied with a certain thought your most likely to see it in your dream. Just before sleep if you start thinking deeply and sleep then your most probably have a dream of what you were thinking. Now don't try this to experience a dream..lol
