Prayers Answered - Precious hours

Assalaam walaikum,

Sister,

In the last third of the night Allah subhana wa taala is Shy thus He grants us our wishes.

But, we have to know what we are asking as well as to fully understand that we have to be on point about all the rest of His demands.

You are essentially asking for a miracle prayer. It does not work like that. There is not one prayer of one prayer time. It is a package deal.

And yes, He showers us with Blessings every second we are alive.

Allah is wiser than we as in pray we may ask something and if it happens it may make us more unhappy.

Even if we think Allah doesn´t answer we need to be patient and understand we may asked something harmfull to us.

Yes I guess I was hoping for a miracle prayer. I have heard so many quotes from hadith that if you make dua at so and so time then it will be granted. Deep down I know they only come true if Allah has written it in your destiny. You can make as many night prayers, salaat ul hajaat, dua while fasting, nafl, dua on arafat and dua on laylatul qadr, and in fact all day, but it will not be granted if Allah has not written it for you.

That's the bottom line. I will probably be a wrinkled Old lady and still be susceptible to these so-called miracle prayers though. Somehow I have to get it out of my system. I just don't know how.

It is due to the mercy of Allah subhanahu wa taaala that make us seek something badly so we turn to him with sincerity , we pray at night We turn our hearts to heavens.....then subhan Allah something happen , the slave start feel how near Allah subhanahu wa taaala is , one will start to taste the sweetness of faith to a point the that slave forget the thing that he/she was asking .......some beautiful warm feeling will brighten the heart........subhan Allah then when all your wishes come true .......you feel it very little compared to the moment of joy when you were very close to Allah with your poverty , humility ,tears........:salah:I wish every person taste those true pure moments. :salah:

Assalaamu Alaykum.....

I do not know if this answers your question....but Allaah has answered all my duas!
I prayed Tahajud prayers and have asked Allah to grant me some stuff and alhamdulillah all of them have been answered! each one of them and yes...that hunts me down every single time. This is one of the reasons why I am now scared of asking him for more---I believe I know how to nag....but do not know how to be thankful. There is a verse that talks about how non-believers would call on Allaah alone when they're in trouble and when Allah helps them and saves them they become unthankful and start associating partners with Allah :( This is how I feel right about now. Allaah has blessed me with so much, answered all my precious duas and what am I doing?? I am being ungrateful.....saddest thing about life.

Sister....just know that Allah hears you and insha'Allah HE WILL ANSWER you but you have to be certain that HE WILL!!!

Sister yes, alhamdulillah, even if that is not the case sometimes, it surely gives one peace of mind and tranquility and closeness to Allah. That is the most cherished feeling. The sweetness of prostrations at night, nothing can match it,if they are done with sincerity and life's and hearts light up with Allah's love.
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -
Half of it - or subtract from it a little
Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.[73:1-6]

Asalamu alaikum...

It happens sometimes that the dua doesn't get accepted readily or you dont see the effect immediately... this can be due to a wrong way of making dua(or asking something that is not good) or it is a test from Allah subhana wa taa'la...

sometimes the calamity you are afflicted with makes you to come closer to Allah and Allah wants good for you...

I have learnt that other than the specific time , there are a lot many other things needed for the acceptance of dua...

It was narrated that Faddalah ibn ‘Ubayd said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) heard a man making dua after his prayer, but he did not send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “This man is in a hurry.” Then he called him and said to him or to someone else: “When any one of you has finished praying (and makes dua), let him start by praising Allah, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), then after that let him ask for whatever he wants.” Al-Albani said: it is a saheeh hadeeth. (Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2765.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The slave will receive a response so long as his dua does not involve sin or severing of family ties, and so long as he is not hasty.” It was said, “What does being hasty mean?” He said: “When he says, ‘I made dua and I made dua, and I have not seen any response,’ and he gets frustrated and stops making dua.” Narrated by al-Bukahari, 6340; Muslim, 2735.

Dua signifies the faith in Allah...

But we don't know what has been written for us, so continue to make du'a. I mean it is a win-win situation when you have started to ask du'a to Allah, right? Either you will be granted now or will be granted later or with something better or will be compensated in the hereafter... It may also be the way to get closer to Allah.

Either we can leave off asking du'aa thinking may be it is not written in my destiny, which i believe is a waswasa from shaytan, or we continue to make du'aa with utmost hope and expect only good from Allah and be winners in shaa Allah.

I don't know whether this is what you wanted to hear, but this is my opinion.
Also attitude matters too. barak Allau feeki

so when we ask Allah SWT for something to happen and He Grants it to us. So are we to thank Allah SWT for Writing it for us in His Book or to thank Allah SWT for answering our prayers ?

Assalaam walaikum,

Yes, Sister Seeking Allah's Mercy ( happy now )....I believe and have read that the power of dua is very strong and can change a person's destiny...now where I read is ...I am too scared to retrieve from my mind.
I know I read something about that on a TTI post.

We thank Allah subhana wa taala for everything. He has told us to place our Trust in Him and in Him alone. And keep in mind the artistry of the Creator. He his so Subtle, He answers prayers and as events unfold we do not realize our prayers are answered so gently.

It is a matter of belief. And faith is simple. We have lessons from the other segments of creation. I look at trees, waterfalls, rivers, animals, even blades of grass, snowflakes, the wind..and that is all we have to do...

Yes, it is that simple.

Wasalamo`Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Baraakaatuh,

Isn't there something along the lines of duas having the strenght of changing people's destinies? Their Qadr?

:salam2:

Yes - it has been reported that the prophet, peace be upon him, said "nothing can change the divine decree except dua." Tirmidhi. And also that “No precaution can protect against the decree of Allaah. Du’aa’ is beneficial with regard to what has been decreed and what has not been decreed. The du’aa’ meets the calamity that has been decreed and wrestles with it, until the Day of Resurrection.” al-Tabaraani

Please see the following link regarding dua:

(original link was not working so I created a new post containing the same info)

Allah loves that we ask of him, so we should constantly be engaged in doing so. We need to believe solidly that Allah listens to and responds to the dua of the sincere believer.

"And your Lord said: ‘Invoke Me, I will respond to your (invocation). Verily, those who scorn My worship they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!’”[Ghaafir 40:60]

“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near. I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright” [al-Baqarah 2:186].

Assalaam walaikum,

Equally, we need to understand if we do not gain what we ask for that too is good. What we may seek may not benefit us in this life nor the hereafter. He Knows what is good for us.

Sister,
what do you mean by "some stuff"?? Did you ask for things that were of an existential nature, or, day to day things? For example, I pray that I lose a few pounds, or that my acne clears up, and Al-Hamdolillah with exercise and medication it does. But there are other things that go to the root of my soul, that shatter my heart and place dark curtains over my eyes, that I ask to be remedied - in fact, i have been asking for many, many years, and instead my heart keeps chipping and chipping away. How long did you pray for these things, sister, before Allah heard you? Did you spend years crying from the depths of your soul, in the middle of the night? Did you spend hours and hours begging God to help you, to send a miracle to you? How long did you strive for Allah's sake?

That is what is perplexing me? That in the midst of all my pleas, I end up more and more broken with each passing month, each year, yet every time I beseech Allah I feel that He will answer me, it is just a matter of time. And what I ask for is beautiful. I always ask that it is in my best interests IN THIS LIFE and in the Hereafter. Allah has created joy, and smiles, and laughter, and love and loving people...there is nothing sinful in asking for such things...there is nothing sinful in wanting those things in this life and in the Hereafter.

Salaam dear sister,
Why not reach out to sister Aapa and let her try to help you as she has offered. She knows many people in the community - perhaps this assistance she may be able to provide for you could be a response to your dua . . . whether or not that is the case, it is probably worth exploring that option anyway, what is the worst that could happen. Wishing you the best.

Assalaam walaikum,

Sister,

Yes, you are going deep. But, the deeper you go the more we have to let go. Who said it was going to be easy. Sabr.

I am still striving for the sake of Allah and InshaAllah I will strive upon my last breath.

Sister..the flip side of the coin is this..and I want to you reflect upon this. I am not asking for a response. How much have you opened your heart to allow the blessings of Allah to flow in. Before everyone jumps down my throat, when we ask we have to be an empty vessel to receive the blessings.
