If anyone still cares I actually did email Nestle regarding this just to be on the safe end!And this is their reply!
"Dear Mohamed,
Thank you for contacting Nestlé Middle East, and for your interest and concerns with regards to KIT KAT®!
The whey is from a cow’s milk source and is extracted through bacterial cultures.
We do use some rennet for the wafer manufacturing in KIT KAT® but it is from a bacterial culture and not an animal origin.
The vanilla is alcohol free. When its mentioned vanilla flavor or natural vanilla flavor, the source is solely vanilla beans.
Please note that Nestlé products worldwide maintain the same quality which is constantly being improved. However the aspects of each product vary, i.e. products produced for the Middle East are different from those available in Brazil, India etc.
Having said this, Since your query is with regards to the KIT KAT® manufactured in UAE, it is important to note that since it is produced in an Islamic country it is not mandatory to provide Halal proof on the packaging. All raw materials are controlled and monitored by Dubai Municipality ensuring that it complies with Halal status.
All Nestlé products in the Middle East market distributed through Nestlé Middle East must follow strict regulations and meet Islamic standards so they are 100% Halal as mandated by the law. Also note that the distribution of these products will not be approved by the authorities in this region unless it meets the local standards. That is why we assure you that all Nestlé products in the Middle East region are Halal.
Thanks & Best Regards.
