Need Help About Prayers.

Hi guys I am wondering if I do prayers in English is it valid?

What if person doesn´t know Arabic? Should he/she first study that much Arabic before starts to pray?

No sister, that would mean he would be abandoning salah for quite a long time which is not acceptable. He/she should focus on learning the prayer first.

Assalaamu Alaikum,
You mean Salah [Obligatory prayers] and not the personal prayer.


While learning salaah is progressing, and pray according to what you are able to do. Its easier to learn the Salaah in the correct tongue (Arabin) and Until you learn the correct tongue you should still continue to pray regularly on time.As one practices regularly, the benefits of prayers start sinking in. And progressively we tend to recite the bigger surah from quran too.

If you have newly started prayers, then try smaller Surah's. Listen to the audio recordings of Salaah, you will be able to learn it quickly Insha Allah.

You should offer Salah in arabic.You can make du'a(supplication) outside of salah in any language,but it is preferrable to stick to arabic in all matters of worship.
You can learn Surah al fatihah first [HERE]
and other shorter surahs [HERE]
Be easy on yourself and take it step by step as brother strive-may-i has said.

I think till u study Arabic u can pray in other language anyways there is a site for beginners which is an animation shows u how to pray in Arabic language & English translation it will help u alot Inshallah
