Again a contradiction.
Like it or not you are an atheist - everyone is. Bertrand Russell just failed to believe in one more God than you do.

The last ploy in your bag of tricks -
So everyone is atheist, You say even I am. So as per you, that means a straight forward conclusion, It means, as per you no one has belief. Proven.

I don't see why Townie can't be accepted. I have a few atheist friends. I love them, and the feeling is mutual. They respect my beliefs and I don't judge them for theirs. An atheist with morality is almost a Muslim. A scholar once said something along these lines: An atheist took the first half of the Shahada; "There is no god...." I hope to see brother Townie finish the second half--"...But Allah, and Mohammad is His Messenger."--here on TTI.

Brother Townie, I understand your position. However, I would like to ask you for a really big favor. If you can do this for me, I promise you that our friendship will grow and we'll have an unbreakable bond! For 7 days, I want you to pretend that there is a Supreme Being. Thats all I ask. As you lay in bed all 7 nights, just thank God repeatedly until you fall asleep. And if you want, ask God to help my people in Syria...it may not do much, but it will make me feel better. After 7 days, we can talk about your experience.

You really don't get it do you? Of course you have a belief and judging from your posts I would guess you are a theist when it comes to Islam. That's fine of course and I support your right to believe in whatever you want.
However to be an atheist is not to believe anything. It is an absence of belief. So although you are a theist when it comes to Islam, you are an atheist when it comes to every other theist system.
It really isn't so hard to understand if you make just a little effort.

Atheism is a belief, thats a given. Absence of belief, you are kidding. Though you might think you are there, you always have a belief.

It really isn't so hard to understand if you make just a little effort.
Well rehearsed next item. Thats our point. If you make little effort and keep aside your prejudice, you will accept many of the posts here. So, why not go back and read the verse and reply by sister Hajjer?

Don't keep on - just look in a dictionary.
World English Dictionary
atheism (ˈeɪθɪˌɪzəm)
— n
rejection of belief in God or gods
[C16: from French athéisme, from Greek atheos godless, from a- + theos god]

Atheism is belief - they make it big number that there is no God. If they believe so, why they make it so big number? Why it is so important to them? Need to come here to prove it. Like we would be really interesting? Poor baby.

124 comments and full of contradictions, when presented with valid points, picking what you think is a next possible target, when again presented with valid points , moving goal posts .... And now finally, trying hard to say AThiesm is not a belief!

Now, so far,

With Russel and evidences it was clear, Atheism is a belief.
With your definition again, Atheism is belief. See comment 201 -- http://www.turntoislam.com/forum/showthread.php?t=87570&p=571365&viewfull=1#post571365
From Comment 205, using your own terminologies, You are a 'theist of Atheism'. You have a non belief in God of atheism. But as far as we (Muslims) are concerned, 'there is no god but allah' La Ilaaha Illallah.

Now, you try another attempt.

Yes. But, that little research is not enough. Lets get this correct. So you now make it all the more clear. ie From lack of 'belief in god' you say a rejection of 'belief in god'. ie 'Acceptance in belief there is no god' The case becomes more stronger for 'Athiesm is a belief' to say rejection of 'belief in god' is a stronger belief.

Good point. Lets Deep dive.

A Thiesm. a negation of theism.
Theism comes from the Greek theos or ‘god’. Atheism from atheos. Theos is god. Atheos no god.
Theism, with all its different prefixes, means ‘belief in a god’, coming from the Greek theos or thea(depending on gender). Belief that god exists. So, atheism (depending on etymology you preferred) means “Without belief in a god or gods”. A strong position , without any evidence to prove - god does not exist. It simply is 'belief in no god'
Okay? Without 'belief in ...' .
The word to examine, belief. It comes from the Old English leafa, as a replacement for Old English galeafa, which itself came from West Germanic ga-laubon, meaning “to hold dear, esteem, trust”.
Mental acceptance of a claim as truth regardless of supporting, unsupporting or contrary empirical evidence.
Something believed trusted. The old atheists had a belief - universe always existed. They were sure thus to use this as evidence for no god.
The quality or state of believing (trusting). My belief that it will be proven universe was created was strong. The atheists trusted since there is no evidence of beginning, their position is correct

(uncountable) faith. Your belief that my belief in Allah wont change, may it become true for eternity.... Ameen.
(I could give many more examples)

You are pissing in the wind. Atheism is a belief like not collecting stamps is a hobby. That's all there is to it. Go and play somewhere else..

You are pissing in the wind.
Your atheistic belief. Soon, laws would be passed against the standing and urinating.
Islam teaches one to sit while urinating and clean up after that. Islam also expects one to not urinate in public, nor by the pathside. That simply eliminates the wind.

Wrong.
Atheism is a belief like not collecting stamps is a hobby. That's all there is to it. Go and play somewhere else..
Let me correct the statement.
Atheism:Belief:::collectingstamp:hobby.
So lacking a belief in god ::: lacking the hobby of collecting stamps.

I understand that English may not be your first language so it is understandable that you didn't get my point - no worries.
'Pissing in the wind' means you are trying to do something when there is no hope of succeeding.
'Atheism is a belief like not collecting stamps is a hobby' means that the absence of the hobby of collecting stamps is the same as the absence of belief in theism.
I am sorry if my use of colloquialisms confused this issue.
Seriously though, you do not need to believe that there is no God to be an atheist. It is true that some people have defined 'weak atheism' as an absence of belief in God, and 'strong atheism' as a belief there is no God, but the word itself only describes a lack of belief.
For myself I do not believe there is no God. I don't know if there is a God, but nothing I have seen in my life suggests that there is a need of one. I have also perhaps traveled too much and seen the depth of faith that ordinary people have each in their own religion, be that Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism or Christianity. Clearly they can't all be right and I think it is more likely that they all are wrong.

Dear Townie,

I still wonder why you tell us this about your religion you call as atheism. I know you don´t answer my posts and I know why. You just can´t beat my faith and you afraid.

May Allah make you too as strong as He made me.

Good day.
