A baby killed by Bashar al Assad's chemical weapons in Syria. I'm actually disgusted that Islam has a population of 1.62billion. So many "muslims" yet no one is helping these poor people. Shaking my head.

I very much agree with what brother Hassan said.

And believe it or not, your emotionally-driven comments are really not helping anyone right now. If you have the means to help, do so. If you don't, make du`aa for them. Being 'embarrassed' and 'disgusted' with Muslims will do you, or the helpless, no good.

You may think that 'no one' is helping them, but in reality, many are doing just that. Helping them - with their du`aas. And that alone is more than enough if you know the power that Du`aa holds.

It is hard not to be emotional. I am furious when I see these things.

That baby girl looks so much like mine... I couldn't imagine losing her to an accident, let alone to something like a chemical weapon.

Asalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh dear ukhty, Although i might not fully understand your feelings but all the Mu'mins do feel sadness/pain with what is going on with our ummah. However, all of us have different way of expressing our feeling and i respect yours, But we can't generalize with our complains. Alhamdullilah, May Allah swa bless them, many of our sisters and brothers are putting their life on the line to protect the sharia and the innocent while others are up with du'a.

At the first calm down. Breath slowly (and thank Allah you can really breath fresh air). Then think that kind of situation in Syria has already continued some years. There are millions of refugees - maybe some has already arrived near of you. You can become volunteer worker and help them. Via them you might find contacts whose tell you how to help your sisters and brothers in Syria.

Contact to international organizations like Red cross/Red Creasent/IHH (Turkey)/Islamic Relief and ask them what you can do to help.

Be active. And make dua.

I read that this is all orchestrated so soon America can start a war with Syria and start attacking with cruise ships. They're saying that not really "chemical" weapons were used but something else to kill these people as none of the hospitals doctors and nurses have adequate protection and the symptoms are not spreading to them.... Whatever was used, so many innocent people still died...

I doupt if USA will start war against Syria, they needs permission from UN Security council and it is hard to get when China and Russia might vote against it. Syria government is the only real alley of Russia in the Middle East and they protect Syria by this reason.

Btw, what exactly is the relation between Syria and Russia? What does Russia get from Syria? Oil?

Connection between Russia and Syria is political. Russia doesn´t need natural resources of Syria as in Russia is enough oil and gas but Russia needs ally who has seashore of the Mediterranean Sea. They might ask to has military base in there. Political reason is geopolitical. To Russia it is also important to support political parties whose the West (USA) disagree, like Iran and Hizballah (they might support Hamas too - not sure about this). By political reasons Russia want to weaken the western influenfe in the region of the Middle East.

I did laugh at this, my memory is not so short that I forgot Iraq.

I agree USA is unlikely to attack Syria, because it would be the same thing as attacking Russia. Hafez al-Assad (former president) spent some time training in Soviet air force - since his time in power, Russia and the Assads have been very close allies. Iran would become involved very quickly too I think.

So... Iraq wasn´t so important to Russia like Syria is now. Syria is last contact to Russia these days. And in these days Syria hasn´t too much friends.

Syria might after Russia looking for friendship to real pariah countries in the world like the North Korea.

Indeed not, I mention Iraq in the context that to legitimise the invasion we saw then how the UN can be played/circumvented.

So much of what is happening in the ME is aftershock from the Soviet collapse and power-shifting in the rubble of Cold War alliances. In my opinion anyway. It isn't just so simple, there are one or two other factors.

Latest what I read was Mr.Obama and Mr.Cameron spoke over the phone for 40 mins on the topic "Whether to attack Syria or Not." They seem to be waiting for the confirmation from UN officials in Syria over the use of Chemical Weapons. A few days back, I read France also wants to chip in against the Army. Turkey is tired of what is happening in Syria and is in favor of attacking the military as well.

But I would like to know, What's in for China that it supports the Assads?

In my local newspaper today, there was an article also that compared today's situation with that of Kosovo from the 90s. Then too, Russia supported Yugoslavia which was doing injustice in Kosovo. And the UN Security Council was bypassed and NATO started airstrikes on Kosovo back then..

Nato didn´t attacked against Kosovo but to some refugees of people from Kosovo. That was because they were prisoners of Serbian soldiers whose had weapons from Russians. Computers of system of airplanes of Nato identify them as soldiers of Serbia and bombed them.


Refugees from Kosovo usually respect Nato forces because Nato protected muslims in this war.

But I would like to know, What's in for China that it supports the Assads?

Who knows but China. If it isn't to protect their investments or secure natural resources, then their thinking is usually long-term.

All these people fighting over the dunya, scheming and plotting and killing to raise their status, when Allah swt can change that in a second if He so wills. All praise is due to Allah. There is no might and no power except with Him. May he protect and guide the believers everywhere, and spoils the tricks of the shayateen.
