Assalamualaikum warahmatullah

If anyone of you here are thinking of studying or memorising hadith, some advice on books you should read .

1) Arba'in ( 40 hadith ) by Imam Nawawee
2) Umdatul ahkam by Sheikh Al Maqdisi
3) Bulughul Maram by Imam ibn Hajar Asqalani
4) Riyadhus Salihin by Imam Nawawee

That will be basic books. Later you can move on to Sahih Bukhari and Muslim

Jazaakallaah khayr.

I know that many tulaab begin with the first two, namely Arba`een and `Umdah. I'm trying to get a copy of `Umdah in Arabic/English. If not `Arabic with tashkeel would suffice!

jazaak Allaah khayr.

I recommend "Pearls and Corals of what the two Elders Agreed on" (Al-Lu'lu'u wal-Marjaan fee mat-Taffaqa `alayhi ash-Shaykhaan). It's a collection of all authentic Hadeeths that were reported in both Bukhari and Muslim collections.

Masha-Allah, you memorized the Quran first, I presume? ;)

Yeah that's a good collection. I've started reading that myself.
