False accusation of LEGO products from Denmark.

*Note* It is not a true story.... Read a Press Release by the Lego Company or refer to my post on second page! Thank you.

SALAM sisters & brothers,

Refer to the latest LEGO collection recently launched in Denmark, i wish we could start thinking about that. Please inform our Malaysian muslim will not buy the danish product which is touching of sensitive issues of Islam country & religion.
Fact : The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well". It’s their name and it’s their ideal.

The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. The Company has passed from father to son and is now owned by Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, a grandchild of the founder.

It has come a long way over the past 70 years - from a small carpenter’s workshop to a modern, global enterprise that is now, in terms of sales, the world’s sixth-largest manufacturer of toys.

Another product of Denmark is Sunquick..

Shame on them who did this!

Their purpose is just to anger muslims so that they can watch the drama.

Better ask patience from Allah and Allah will better see them in hereafter.

Please don't paint all non Muslims with the same brush, because thats simply not true.

REGARDING THE THREAD: I'm very sad and disapointed with Lego...I can't even imagine how hard it must be for Muslims in Denmark to have to deal with this sort of thing on a day to day basis. At least here we can kind of tune it out, over there it's in your face constantly.

Salam,

I think someone has created this as a joke, I've checked their website in order to file a complaint and there is nothing on there about the product that Dianne has posted.

Someone is simply just trying to offend us Muslims. Allah will deal with them when the time comes.

This is really silly.

this whole issue is really silly.

as muslims why don't you put God first. By putting God first into our lives and to live according TO HIS norms and desires, we would not have to resort to these petty little aberrations. Instead we should pray for these people. Show that God IS the way, the truth.

Imagine if all these posts were published in the Danish newspapers. The response would most likely be that Islam is definitely an intolerant religion and that that would even foster further the contempt they probably have for Islam.

Its time you took Islam as a loving caring and forgiving religion. Just as the christians do. And what God teaches.

With attitudes such as these posts, Islam as a religion can only be a contributary factor in the unnecessary mistrust the non muslim world has for Islam.

For your own benefit and mine, its time to grow up. Show the world what TRUE ISLAM is all about.

So what you're syaing is people shouldn't feel upset? And we shouldnt tell them nicely not to offend our beloved Prophet?

By the way who said we're not putting God first? and I certianly don't remember anyone saying we should jump out of our seats and attack them for what they have done... Only Allah knows best and only Allah can deal with these matters and only Allah can judge.

Dear respected Sir BGfromGB,

I can see you truly love God and there is something that always pulls you to this site. Inshallah one day we will see even better BGfromGB. Keep on searching the truth.

Yes, we always put God first and his messengers as second. Never equal or more than God. Moreover, muslims never claim that prophets are divine (including Prophet Mohammed).

Yes we do pray for all humanity same like good christians or the people of other religon might pray.

Imagine if all these posts were published in the Danish newspapers. The response would most likely be that Islam is definitely an intolerant religion and that that would even foster further the contempt they probably have for Islam.

Dear, tolerance is highly recommended in Islam. Freedom of expression is also well respected in Islam. God gave us free will to choose right or wrong way and at the end we are accountable for our deeds. However, with the freedom comes responsibility. Responsibility towards individuals and towards society as a whole.

Imagine, if such toys are introduced in the market what kind of things new generation will learn from this. First thing they will learn is - sex, even before learning "good morning".

Secondly, how can this world keep on saying that they are concerned about the clash of civilization, but continue to bring such tools of clash (including cartoons published in denmark). Just because of their arrogance, as you know they think that they are superior in millitary and economical power.

Thirdly, we need to respect all the prophet / messengers of God, may it be Abraham, David, Moses, Jesus or Mohammed (PBUH). They are the model for our 24hours life. They showed us the light and the path to God. If we can mock them and degrade them just for silly fun, how can we or younger generations be expected to respect them and follow their teachings?

Its time you took Islam as a loving caring and forgiving religion. Just as the christians do. And what God teaches.

Go to youtube or any other site. Search who is showing love to God and Prophets. You will not find single bad comment from any muslims poster against God or any prophet but you will find non-muslims writing most ugly abuses.

You need to re-valuate who needs to be changed.

With attitudes such as these posts, Islam as a religion can only be a contributary factor in the unnecessary mistrust the non muslim world has for Islam.

For your own benefit and mine, its time to grow up. Show the world what TRUE ISLAM is all about

So, lets grow mutually. If one can't respect innocent muslim lives or muslim faith atleast he/she should try to respect the God and his prophets.

I'd like to close this thread, because the claims here are false... but it will up to the posters in such case to see if it feels necessary or not. As I see there is a conversation of sorts going on, I shall leave it remain as it is, BUT I hope everyone will see this and not directly post from the first page.

However, this story is false.... From a Press Release by the Lego Company

October 13 2006

Image of false LEGO box circulated via e mail

An image of a false LEGO box is currently being circulated across the world via e mail. The picture of the box is computer manipulated and in the picture LEGO elements are used to depict the Prophet Mohammed in a situation of a sexual nature – with a severely offensive text.

The LEGO Group wants to stress that there is no such LEGO product, and that the company totally condemns the picture and the manner in which someone has made use of the LEGO products and brand.

The LEGO Group does not know the original source of the image which back in spring appeared on some European websites. Possibilities of stopping this use of LEGO products and brands are being investigated, and the LEGO Group is collaborating with the Danish police in the matter.

The LEGO Group has released a statement which can be downloaded from this site.

So it is not true, and if as Muslims we are spreading this around even more, guess who's spreading this BAD publicity and enticing unwanted attention? I think if anyone recieves this by e-mail, they should re-send this along and ask people to STOP sending it!! It's being fed and continued by us Muslims, and even though this and what they do is so horrible, there will always be these types of sick people in the world, who make their living off of getting people angry, but we shouldn't... help them spread it.

I hope that made sense.

Jazakhallah Samiha,

Of course it made sense and thanks for going to the trouble of finding out whether this really had anything to do with Lego at all.

I'm glad that's now sorted out!

:salam2:

wa iyyakum, i'm glad :)

I don't like stories without sources, nor any information in general without sources, makes me doubt them. So I had to see if it was really true or not.

Other Muslims had called into the Danish Lego Office to also inquire about this, and the corp. feels no need to increase security etc, because as quoted... they found all the callers to be quite "understanding". To read entire article. So it would be a large generalization to put all people under one banner and say we create violent reactions when that is not true.

However, it is only natural for people to be offended to such pictures, as it is not a matter of "free-speech" but I find in this case, respect of the greatest form. If someone drew your mother, your father, or anyone near to you in such a way, in such a form, would it not feel derogatory and wrong? Would you allow such a perpetrator loose reign in the name of freedom? Would it not be a natural reaction for you to feel offended? If not, then that is quite sad.

And if this natural courtesy is not extended to the people greatest in our religions, then what is religion? It is not merely to follow God; because how would we know Him if it weren't for His prophets? We respect them to a great degree, and love them as well. And when you love someone, it is only natural for you to feel such a way when things are placed in such a manner.

We would feel about the same way if it was Isa (Jesus) (peace be upon him) rather than Muhammad :saw: !!!

... it makes me quite sad everytime I pass a cross with the "figure" representing Isa (AS) is there... :( even though I know it is not him...

that's my view, my take...
