Muslim Women Scholars of Hadeeth (الوفاء فی الاسما ء النسا)
Asslamo Allaikum,
Maulana Akram Nadwi is a Muhaddith from Nadwatul-Ulama (India) and a research scholar at Oxford centre for Islamic Studies.
He has catalogued the biographies of 8,000 Women scholars of Hadeeth in a 40-volume Arabic dictionary (yet to be printed) by his usual printers at Damascus or Beirut! There is a possibility that a trust run by Saudi Government might print this work as being discussed between Maulana Akram Nadwi & Saudi government.
The contribution of Muslim women scholars has NEVER been catalogued in such an exhaustive manner and therefore remains hidden from public eye.
The foreword in English will be coming out in English (this summer) which is 400 pages long!
May Allah (SWT) reward all our Muslim Sisters & their contribution and efforts in preserving and propagating the sayings, actions and approvals of Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam), starting from the gratest narrator of Hadeeth to have ever lived Sayyida Ayesha (RA) till the last woman to do so! Ameen.
P.S: Most people are familiar with his contributions in the latst rendering in English of "Madina University Arabic Books (1,2 & 3)" and he lives in Leicester.
