On your marks..get set..go!

Allah SWT says in Surah Ma’idah verse 48: If Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds.Allah SWT here is telling us to do good deeds as if we are in a race. Racing towards good deeds and competing with each other is a deed commendable by Allah SWT. Doesn’tmean we have to put on our trainers and shorts and whatnot and start running for no reason but just bear this in mind insha’Allah next time you see an opportunity to give charity or someone asks for your help :D

Found it!

Imagine that you have just lost your mobile phone and like you are looking everywhere for it and you think thats it, you’ve lost it. You needed it so badly, it had all your numbers and everything and suddenly..you look under your bed, and there it is, that precious mobile phone you had been searching for everywhere. Imagine the joy you would feel and how pleased you would be. Our Lord, Allah [subhanahu wa ta’3la] is more pleased than that when we repent to him.

Abu Hurairah [radiAllahu anhu] narrated that the messenger of Allah [salAllahu alyhi wa salam] said: By Allah, Allah is more pleased wth the repentance of His servant than what one of you would do on finding the lost camel in the waterless desert [Saheeh Muslim]

For turning back to Allah, for asking him to forgive our sins, Allah [subhanahu wa ta3la] is pleased with us. subhan’Allah for us asking him of something and for us needing him, he becomes pleased. And who is it from amongst us that does not want to please Allah?

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله

Jzak allah khair Brother Osman.. :)

I also would like to post this hadith, that shows how much Allah loves those who turn to him in everything, and how merciful he is:

Anas ibn Malik ( May Allah be well pleased with him) relates from the Holy Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) that he said:

"Truly, Allah rejoices more at the atonement of His servant when he repents to Him than one of you would if he were on his riding camel in an empty tract of desert, and it got away from him with all his food and water on it, and he gave up all hope of finding it, so he came to a tree and laid down in its shade, having despaired of ever seeing it again. While lying there, he suddenly finds it standing beside him, and he seizes its halter, and overjoyed, cries, "O Allah, You are my slave, and I am your Lord," making a mistake out of sheer joy"
6 (Muslim, 4.2104: 2747).

Nabi (pbuh) stated that a man had lost his camel and his provisions while being in the desert. Upon finding them, in a state of euphoria, he states,

اللهم أنت عبدي و أنا ربك

Oh Allah ! You are my Slave and I am your Lord!

Because of this unintentional slip, the Prophet Muhammad stated that the man was forgiven and would enter Jannah.

That is the secret of true repentance ( tawba ) in the spiritual path is this divine rejoicing it is met with from Allah Most High. Abul Hasan al-Shadhili, the sheikh of Ibn 'Ata' Illah's own sheikh, used to daily pray to Allah: "And when we disobey You, show us even greater mercy than You do when we obey You" (Invocations, 27).
