Salaam,

So true, so true.
The picture that is painted of a home with a white picket fence, 2.5 kids, the dog, the suv..ha ha ha.
The truth...everyone is one paycheck away from being homeless.
The economy is buit on speculation. Stocks and bonds and the whatevers are simply gambling. Chances are you lose.
The average American is still satisified with his portion of the table scraps i.e the suv, the two-week vacation, the four bedroom home...as long as reality is not displayed on tv...and I can watch the game...I am not responsible..the federal government is in LaLa Land..writing gobbledey-goop law..
I will stop my ranting.

Lol, you're funny. Salam alaikum.

EDIT: Decided I would add my thoughts on it. Yeah, I have heard on a few radio interviews that the American (and following with it, the international) money systems are on the brink of collapse. Money is being printed out faster and faster, and it's becoming worth less and less.

Heads up to everyone to learn how to plant and grow some basic vegetables, incase a day comes where you can take $2000 (or 2000 pounds) to the supermarket and not be able to buy even a loaf of bread with it. Salam alaikum again.

Salaam,

What you purpose is serious. We, Muslims need to become agricultural again. That is the important job in life. Let us become self-sufficient. What happened to honest barter? It is an equalizier. Why are we buying crap? Why are we buying foods made with the leftovers of a cow that was cloned 30 genrations ago and frozen for three years.
Islam is about family and community, first. Let us feed family and community.

The Economic System of Islam!

Asslamo Allaikum,

Why don't we work towards establishing the ECOMONIC system of Islam. If you pick any standard book of Fiqh (Any School, Any Scholar) you will find that less then 1/4 is Ibadaah (Salah, Fasting) and 3/4 is transactions, social interactions etc.

So where did we as an Ummah lose the balanace?

Allah (SWT) gives the principles for most things in Qur'aan but social interactions are described in absolute detail in Surah Ahzaab & Surah Nur!

If you look at typical questions of Muslims (even on TTI) most of them are about Salah, Mars bars being Haram, Fasting, Circumscion :)

What happened to Islam as a COMPLETE SYSTEM?

In my opinion we (Muslims) have an incomplete picture of Islam!

We have an economic system which has both capatalism (free market economy) and socialism (helping those who are less fortunate)

P.S: I realise that my statement in bold needs some more explaination, hopefully most people will understand after reading the article in question.

P.P.S: Has anyone ever heard of Mufti (Dr) Yusuf Talal DeLorenzo (student of Mufti Taqi Usmani [Grand Mufti of Pakistan] and professor of Dow Jones university? Look into it!
