Assalaamu alaykum ,
dear brother,
So as again I say the afterlife, life in barzakh, hell, paradise, judgement, and other that is known to us through qur’aan and sunnah.
It’s the matters that Allaah subhanahu only knows. Who could perceive and know what Allaah declares secret and hidden ?
Great Beyond: ‘Higher Dimensions, Parallel Universes and the Extraordinary Search for a Theory of Everything’
Are you mentioning this book ? I searched that. If that is then…
Such study is nothing but human perception/understanding. Edition/deletion is never denied.Understanding Islam through such books destroys our beliefs or confuse/raise doubt about the dhaat and sifaat of Allaah and the aqeedah that is always streesed through qur’aan and sunnah . At many stages there are statements of disbelief or the foundational principle itself a disbelief. On the contrary,we believe and have faith on what is in qur’aan and saheeh sunnah and take it as a guidance. -on that we are told to rely.
Second thing is the author is not a muslim,so should we be relying on him for our religion? or learning islam in a way as atheists and proponents of materialism do!
As what qur’aan and sunnah says of ghayb we have to believe in that.apart from that there is no source that could inform us about it. The matters of birth-death, distribution of rizq, secrets of hearts, gender of baby in womb, can anyone tell about?
your basic question was ‘aspiration of knowing the unseen’. I think the below link has some good information regarding what the scholars of islaam have said about that. the references are from shaykh-ul-islaam Ibn taiymiyyah, his student shaykh Ibn al qayyim jawziyyah and shaykh Muhammad naseeruddin Albani on the matter. go through that, InshaaAllaah.

The site you mentioned is the site of Sufism. In its fatwa section a fatwa that states ‘writing the name Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasallam) and ghouspak (sufi pir) is taking help from them and it is allowed.
What qur’aan says regarding the deads and calling them for help.
If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not your call; and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grant it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him Who is the All-Knower (of everything)”
[Faatir 35:13-14 – interpretation of the meaning]
So He calls their prayers to others shirk.
And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And who is more astray than one who calls on (invokes) besides Allaah, such as will not answer him till the Day of Resurrection, and who are (even) unaware of their calls (invocations) to them?
And when mankind are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they (false deities) will become their enemies and will deny their worshipping”
[al-Ahqaaf 46:6]
So Allaah tells us that those who are called upon other than Him, the Prophets and the righteous, are unaware of the call of those who call upon them and will never respond to their calls, and they will be their enemies and will deny their worship of them.
it too has over-exaltation of the status of Muhammad (salAllaahu alayhi wasallam), take him as helper, all-knower, knower of ghayb , hadhir naadhir ,Prophet's birth-day and so on.
what qur’aan say about him (salAllahu alayhi wasallam)
Allaah said to His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):
“Verily, you (O Muhammad) will die, and verily, they (too) will die” [al-Zumar 39:30]
And Allaah said (interpretation of the meaning):
“Muhammad is no more than a Messenger, and indeed (many) Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you then turn back on your heels (as disbelievers)?” [Aal ‘Imraan 3:144]
“And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad); then if you die, would they live forever? [al-Anbiyaa’ 21:34]
Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) said, in his speech after the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had died, “Whoever used to worship Muhammad, Muhammad has died, but whoever used to worship Allaah, Allaah is Alive and will never die.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari).
This and similar evidence indicates that Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was a human being like all other human beings, who died as they die, and will never be immortal just as no one before him was immortal.
Whoever wants to put the Prophet beyond the human realm and claim that the Prophet is present in all places, is the one who should be asked to produce evidence (daleel). How does he know that the Prophet is omnipresent at all times? Moreover, those who make the same claim with regard to Allaah (should know that) this is kufr, deviation and misguidance. This belief implies that Allaah is present even in dirty places like bathrooms etc. – Glorified be Allaah far above what they say.
So after all, learning the deen should be through the reliable scholars who have traversed or are traversing the way of sunnah with the understanding of salaf-saalih.
And, These are the good articles in understanding the principles and basic of tafseer, and how it should be performed ? I wish that you read them, inshaaAllaah.
