After Death

Assalamu Aleikom

I was doing some research on what happens when a person dies in Islam. I wanted to see what it says, what the differences are(being a former Christian) and what needs to be done to the body and so on.

There was a recent death in my family and I was told that the body was bleeding fresh blood after almost three days. When the sons were carrying the body to the grave....there was blood on the covering and the clothes of one of the sons. After almost THREE days? Is this possible? It is said in that culture that when something like this happens, it is a sign from Allah that the person never dies?

I am not sure, but I think this must be a cultural thing and was wondering if anyone has heard of this? Do Muslims believe this? I have heard of what happens in the grave...actually just read a thread here about it, strange coincidence...anyway, what about in this case when it happens before the burial..being carried to the actual grave?

One more thing...I already prayed Isha but feel an incredible urge to pray right now. I feel almost like I want to cry and I think I need to pray to Allah for forgiveness of my past and just so many things I feel like saying right now...can I still pray even though I already prayed Isha? If so, how many rakats??

Allah Hafiz
P.S. I just want to say JAZAKALLAHU KHAIR to all who responded the other day to my posts. It meant so much to me to read all of the kind words and see that everyone was sooooo kind to offer a little prayer for my father-in-law even though you didn't know him...it showed me the compassion that Muslims have for their brothers and sisters in Islam no matter what. My sincere thanks to all of you!!!!! May Allah have mercy on you and bless you!!:tti_sister:

:salam2: sister, i can't answer the blood thing for u but i can answer the question on the prayer one. though it is past isha you are allowed to pray optional prayers. especially the salat called salatu layl. you should pray it the 3rd part of the night but if u can' t wake up at that time u can pray now. you pray 2ra'kats first, then 1ra'kat by itself and u pray like u would pray other salats. u can ask Allah for anything at that time and he will answer ur prayers inshaAllah. he comes down to the nearest heaven every night and asks "who of my servants wants my forgiveness that i shall forgive him?" so do not hesitate to pray or to try and wake up at that time if u are able to. i'm sorry that i don't have enough knowledge to answer the blood question. i'd like to help u out but this is the best i can do. the prophet s.a.w said to never leave 3 things
1-to fast 3 days of each month.(i think it was ...13,14,15)
2-to pray salatu dhuha (u pray this to pay off charity for the bones in ur body, so since there are many bones in our body and some of us don't have enough money to pay for it with cash....it was made easier for us, we just gotta pray 2ra'kats every morning...not that hard)
3-?, sister i'm sorry i can't remember the third one. inshaAllah when i remember i'll send u a pm

As-salaam alaikum,

I would like to remove misconseptions of some who says pious people will not dye they are alive in side the qabar (Grave) :astag:
Please find below.

“Everyone shall taste death. And only on the day of resurrection shall
you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from
the fire and admitted to paradise, this person is indeed successful.
The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception:" (Qur’an
3:185)

“Verily, you (O Muhammad) will die, and verily, they (too) will die”
[al-Zumar 39:30]

“And We granted not to any human being immortality before you (O Muhammad); then if you die, would they live forever?”
[al-Anbiya’ 21:34]

May Allah keep us far far away from SHIRK.

Assalaamu alaikum,

I haven't heard about it sis. All I know is when we die, our physical body dies but ofcourse our soul does not. Here's everything you need to know about Funerals and rulings on graves.

May Allaah swt accept your father-in-law and grant him Jannah Ameen.

Jazakallahu Khair!

I see that it must just be a cultural belief and nothing to do with Islam. This has cleared up things for me. Sometimes I don't understand some things and wonder if it is related to Islam when I hear because they are coming from other Muslims. I know somethings seem very FAR from what would seem acceptable but have to check anyway to be sure. :/
I appreciate your responses.
Palestine? THANK YOU!!!!! This was very helpful!! Don't worry about the number of posts :) all of them were things I did not know...so you have helped me and I am grateful.
The link was very helpful also.

Thank you for your prayers. May Allah have mercy on you and bless you!
