Always there

I turn my back to the troubles I face,
Walking my path in this lonely place.
I don’t care about what’s happening now,
I want to be alone in this lonely town.
As the moon shines its light across the darkened land,
I feel the cold chill coming up my hand.
Breath becomes icy as I stand in the moonlight,
As this caged bird takes another lonely flight.
Throughout my life no one was there for me,
It was only You my Protector, who could really see.
The pain I felt when I was in demise,
The pain I felt when I was in strife.
Cold shoulders everywhere is what I faced,
From people around me but I still wasn’t fazed.
Pathetic gestures I received here and there,
But to the things You gave me, they couldn’t compare.
Life exists in my battered body,
Because of You I am never sorry.
Never sorry that I followed Your orders,
As I ponder and ponder around the dark lands quarters.
Sometimes I’m blue, ignoring the world,
My mind shuts down as if it’s being hurled.
But the remembrance of You my Lord, eases my pain,
As I start to piece together the shattered glass pane.
My life is a mosaic broken into pieces,
A piece here and there I’ll be looking for them for ages.
Each time I remember You a piece comes back,
Until my faith is strong, until I no longer lack.
No longer lack the courage to face,
Face my critics who continue to spray.
Spray slander and rumours that have destroyed my life,
With You watching over me I would no longer cry.
The demons of the past can’t keep up their chase,
As my faith slowly grows I will begin to outpace.
Leaving them wondering in the shadows of darkness,
Where forever now they shall lie in the blackness.
People’s words no longer effect me,
Sad and depressed people is what I see.
Their happy and joyful on the outside,
But take a look deeper... Inside they cry.
You being there for me comfort’s my soul,
The remembrance of You patches up my hole.
The hole that exists in my struggling heart,
That at one stage of my life kept us far apart.
I don’t need people to be there for me,
They’re greedy and arrogant, I don’t know why this could be?
After the warnings You sent down to them,
To love each other, but it didn’t stem.
The only One I need is You my protector,
To shade me from evil, to shade me from error.
Without You I’m lost as I wonder the dark lands,
Which allows my path to prosper and brighten.
This bird may be lonely as it ventures to the sky,
But to this evil world it says goodbye.
In the glistering moonlight it shall soar high,
With my Lord with me, my demise shall die.
