Bukhari :: Book 3 :: Volume 31 :: Hadith 154
Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet said, "If somebody eats or drinks forgetfully then he should complete his fast, for what he has eaten or drunk, has been given to him by Allah." Narrated 'Amir bin Rabi'a, "I saw the Prophet cleaning his teeth with Siwak while he was fasting so many times as I can't count." And narrated Abu Huraira, "The Prophet said, 'But for my fear that it would be hard for my followers, I would have ordered them to clean their teeth with Siwak on every performance of ablution." The same is narrated by Jabir and Zaid bin Khalid from the Prophet who did not differentiate between a fasting and a nonfasting person in this respect (using Siwak).

Aisha said, "The Prophet said, "It (i.e. Siwak) is a purification for the mouth and it is a way of seeking Allah's pleasures." Ata' and Qatada said, "There is no harm in swallowing the resultant saliva."

Bukhari :: Book 8 :: Volume 78 :: Hadith 662
Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet:saw: said, "If somebody eats something forgetfully while he is fasting, then he should complete his fast, for Allah has made him eat and drink."

My masjid has several fig trees growing in the parking lot (along with some pears, olives, and a couple other fruit trees). During the summer you will often see groups of folks gathering figs as they come ripe. On the very first day of my very first Ramadan (this past August) while waiting for the adhan for dhuhr, I found a gorgeous ripe purple fig hanging within reach. It was so nice looking, one of the few without bird poo on it so I did the natural thing - I grabbed it and popped it into my mouth. Yum!!

30 seconds after I swallowed I remembered - D'OH! This is Ramadan! Luckily my masjid has several brothers well versed in ahadith and one brother was sitting taking his shoes off. When I told him what happened he laughed and said "Don't worry akhi, that happens to all of us. Especially on the first days of Ramadan! Its a gift from Allah!".

So sis...don't worry, Allah is most merciful!
