I have been reading and came across some interesting articles on a woman named Lilith.....she was supposedly the first wife of Adam. Seems that she and Adam were created at the same time as equals. She refused to listen to Adam and also refused to his sexual demands....he wanted to be dominant and she wanted no part of it. She left the garden and went to the sea.....the story goes on and on but I would really like to know what any of you know about this......

This is Jewish mysticism...kabbalah. It is not recognized even among the Jews as a "real" story but rather almost a midrash. A midrash is a story made up to speak a "universal truth." I'll admit I read some truly touching midrashes growing up but never vested my spiritual beliefs in them.

Anyways the story of Lillith was basically a lesson in not working as a married couple. Lillith was arrogant and didn't even require a male to reproduce, she would birth hundreds of babies all on her own. But her arrogance and stubborness became her undoing and she was cast to hell. (remember this is basically fiction but I thought I'd tell the basics anyways....think of it as a mvoie review lol)

Thank you very much for the info sister ShyHijabi.. We are surely lucky to have someone like you with jewish background who can answer and clarify misconceptions. It's puzzling to me as to why some site would want to link the above to Islam, but nothing surprises me anymore... LOL
