Even though i enjoyed reading the article for its strong language and direct message...i believe it was unnecessary to name a specific country like that
in fact..if it's gonna be done like that...

then we can very easily take out *kuwait* and insert numerous muslim nations..if it's supposed to be done this way!

i do not want to list any because i believe that you can send a message about *any* issue without making it exclusive to only one society..

and also because i am already offended by some of the comments made about Arab-Muslims..

even though some of the comments *may* be based on facts or personal experiences (unfortunate ones at that)..I feel deeply offended that "fellow muslims" are naming countries..and making generalizations upon Gulf Arabs and kuwaiti arabs...and i-don't-know-who-else-arabs

I know someone will try to quote me and say...no no no they meant this and that in specific...

I'll just say...

don't even bother...

you're all here talking about what is islamic and un-islamic..and if all those who participated in this thread are looking at it...then here's what i believe..

i believe that...allowing one's self to make such comments *is* un-islamic..and that certain *wordings* only raise questions and attach assumptions in the minds of the brothers and sisters who have not had interactions with people from these societies...


if i sound like i'm trying to start something...i want all of you to trust me when i simply say *i am not*..

We are all here as *muslims*...we don't need that whole nationality or ethnicity thing brought up..i absolutely despise it...and it's the one thing that keeps muslims so distant from each other..

if we have problems in our muslim societies (something i do not deny witnessing myself..for it would be ridiculous of me to so)..

we need to work on them as *muslims looking out after muslims*...not *---- (insert nationality) muslims criticizing or even insulting ----- (insert nationality again) muslims*...

you want to fix problems that you see???..you want to bring back the glory of true and pure Islamic culture and practices to troubled societies???...

go ahead..go riiiiight ahead...nobody will have the right to stop you or even *question* you..but do it kindly...with respect..and by focusing on the problem and setting aside "labels"

when i see anybody with a muslim name or a muslimah with a hijab..or any muslim in general...i feel my heart fluttering inside..i feel like i'm seeing someone from my own family..i can't help but smile at them..and if i got the chance to talk to them..i do it
because i don't see the person i'm looking at as a pakistani..or an afghani..or a sudani..or a saudi..or an indian..or an iraqi

i just see a MUSLIM..

and alhamduliallah that i see them this way and feel towards them *all* the same way...and have not gotten carried away with muslim ethnic and/or national divisions...that is a great blessing from Allah (swt)..i can't say *alhamduliallah* enough for that blessing

finally.....i'm sorry if i made this too long and possibly took the topic just a little off track...but i am being truthful when i say that it literally *hurts me* when i witness muslims critcizing each other harshly like that based on things (i.e. nationalities & ethnicities) that are not supposed to exist amongst us MUSLIMS

I agree with the last post. I think that no matter how many bad experiences that we have had with people of a particular culture, ethnicity or nationality, that we can't make sweeping generalizations about them. This is what fuels xenaphobia etc, and we should try and avoid this.

This is just a theory, but do you brothers and sisters think the rich lifestyle Kuwaitis have from the sustained oil wealth has been a major contributing factor to the unislamic things being discussed in this post. The more rich a person or a nation is, the more easier it is for shaytan to influence them, make them feel more superior and arrogant thus racist.

One Indian guy said he was at a shop waiting for his meal (in Dubai), a local emarati came in ordered and waited abit and then said you can't serve him before me, the shop workers said ok and ended up serving the emaratic guy first, over the Indian guy. The Indian man was a Amercian Indian I.T. guy, perhaps the emarati thought he was just another low paided labourer from Bangladesh or Pakistan. It's really bad when people look down at others just because of their job type/income, and then more bad, associate that perception of 'lower class' with a entire ethnic group. E.g. his Indian, so he's lower class due to this lower job and poor country/background, this is very bad way of judging people, seems to be like that in that region. The ironic thing is 50-60 years ago, the people in that region were just as poor, just goes to show how wealth can entirely change a group, espeically those generations who come after the wealth boom.
I realise the same thing can be said to any rich western country, however i believe the main difference is that their economies have gradually been built up upon, with alot of hard work, research and scientific progress, whereas the Gulf nations mentioned in this post, the oil wealth has come with less struggle. Thus adding the factor of hardwork can also influence how a rich person behaves to other people.

Summary: racism and lack of islamic practise in the gulf nations can be contributed to the oil boom, espeically those generations proceed after the discovery of oil.

Thank you dear brothr for sharing this sad artcile about life in Kuwait and how Islam is lossing there.It si really dissapointing and so sad.We can onyl pray to Allah that he keep us from this fitna and wrong doing Astagfirullah.those who sais that Kuwait is 100 % Muslim country are wrong,or they are right if they make some other religion but NOT Islaam Alhamdulillah.!!!
If it is not so sad,it would be funny indead.

But the problem is not only Kuwait but other so called "muslim" countries.

I remember once newspaper story about Kuwait and I was shocked with taht what I saw.There was one restorant(if it can be called like that) where was mixed mans and womens,they were dancing,listening music and drinking alohol Astagfirullah.What has schocked me more is that there was Muslim women with hijab and her husband watching dance show of man dressed like a women in Unislamic clothes Astagfirullah,Astagfirullah.

They really do not have fear of Allah,Wa la hawle wa la kuwete illabillah:astag:

i totally agree with the post from almuslimah86, mashaAllah, very well said. islam has no space for nationalism and although someone may have a few bad experiences with muslims from other countries, that can not be made into a generalisation. i also want to ask those above who commented - we see the state of muslims in those countries, what then are we doing to revive this deen? what are we doing to bring these fellow muslims back to their deen. Allah guide us all ameen

one other thing, as i walk through the streets of damascus i see them filled with people wearing hijab properly and proper free-flowing jilbabs(called) manto, their faces look like angels and i think mashaAllah

Amir_of_spain is right. The oil boom meant easy money for the Gulf countries, and I agree that this contributed to the current superiority complex that some of these people exibit. On the flipside, some may say that this was a blessing that was bestowed upon these nations ... true this may be the case. But Allah has promised man that he will be tried, and surely wealth can be a great fitnah. There truly are a very few places left on earth that are not affected by this kind of materialism.

May Allah swt guide those who he has blessed with wealth, and will bless with weath, to not let it be a cause of our downfall, and to help us spend it in the path of our creator. Ameen :tti_sister:
