Before pointing finger on others.....

Travelling towards my grave.
assalam 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

Its not so beautiful and happy to see what I often see these days. Everybody (including myself) are busy. Yes too busy. In what? In Judging people, in backbiting, in calling others by names, in making takfeer, in hearing haram, in seeing haram and in walking towards haram.

A blessed month is meeting us soon. Are we prepared to welome this blessed guest of us who visit once in a year? Is the place (heart) cleaned before it arrives? What have we done to prepare?

O my dear respected brothers and sisters in Islam! You are the hope of the Ummah. Yes you, the one who is reading this. Let us ask these questions for ourselves inorder to make it easy to see a real picture of our individual situation.

1) How much information do I know about the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam), the best man who ever pleaced foot on earth's surface, and His companions? And how much information do I know about the famous polititians, celebrities, football & cricket players, film stars and singers?

2) Howmuch time did I spent in playing games and watching movies over the past year? And howmuch time did I spent in reading Quran and other religious books?

3) Howmany story books and comics have I finished over the past year? And howmany chapters or pages did I read read from Quran?

4) Howmany days was I late to the dinners with friends over the last year? And howmany prayers did I do in Jamaa'ah?

5) Howmuch did I spent for fun and holidaying over the past year? And howmuch did I spent on the needys and poor?

I can go on like this. But hope you got the point here.

My brothers and sisters in Islam! I call upon myself and you all! Let us start from here. Do a sincere Tawbah before meeting Ramadan. Meet it with a pure heart and try to get the blessings it brings. Rasoolullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam) said, "Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith (i.e. belief) and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayers in the night of Qadr out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven ."
Narrated by by Abu Hurairah. (Sahih al-Bukhari).

We often do so much Israaf in Ramadan, in food. Brothers and sisters please be careful for this. Indeed there are so many of our brothers and sisters in Humanity and in Islam, who are dying in hunger each and every minute.

This could be our last Ramadan. Howmany of our friends and relatives who were with us in last Ramadan are gone now? Are we still going to be like this?

Remember! A day is coming towards us. It is a dangerous day. Our time is the present. No second chance will be given. Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) says in Quran, "And guard yourselves against a day in which you shall be returned to Allah; then every soul shall be paid back in full what it has earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly". [2.281]

May Allah (subuhaanahu watalaala) make our life successful and grant us with eternal happiness of Jannah. Allahumma Ameen.

wassalam 'alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

BaarakAllahu feek dear brother. Indeed what you said is truth. Time going too fastly. How true is the words of the Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam)?

Abu Hurairah said: "The Prophet (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said: 'The Hour will not come until time passes so quickly that a year will be like a month, a month like a week, a week like a day, a day like an hour, and an hour like the time it takes for a palm-leaf to burn'." (Ahmad.)

it means that if a muslim prays during the night of Qadr sincerely, Allah will forgive his previous sins. SubhanAllah

Night of Qadr: it's in the last 10 nights of Ramadan. ie. 21 or 23 or 25 or 27 or 29 of Ramadan.

wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh dear respected sister Isra

First of all, I apologies for the late response. I have tried twice to answer your question and in the first attempt, my home computer said their is an error in internet explorer when I had finished the post and was going to click on "submit". Again I had to write evrything. LOL. Later another problem has occurred. But I hope it will work this time inshaAllah. :)

Inorder to understand that part of the hadith, we need to know only one thing and that is "the night of Qadar (Night of Power)".

So what is Night of Power?

Night of Power is the night in which Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) sent Quran down from Lawhul Mahfood to Baithul 'Izzah.

A complete chapter is revealed in Quran, explaining this night. That is Surah al-Qadr in which Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) says:

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power:

2. And what will explain to thee what the Night of Power is?

3. The Night of Power is better than a thousand Months.

4. Therein come down the angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand:

5. Peace! ...This until the rise of Morn!

Also Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) says in Surah al-Baqarah, "Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong)..........." (2:185)

When is this night?

The Night of Power is in the last ten nights of Ramadan according to the Sahih Hadith of Rasoolullah (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam).

"Seek it in Ramadan in the last ten nights. For verily, it is during the odd nights, the twenty-first, or the twenty-third, or the twenty-fifth, or the twenty-seventh, or the twenty-ninth, or during the last night." (Sahih Hadith Ahmad 5:318)

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: He who is anxious to seek it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) should seek it in the last ten (nights of Ramadan).(Sahih Muslim)

Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) Narrated that some men amongst the companions of the Prophet were shown in their dreams that the night of Qadr was in the last seven nights of Ramadan. Allah's Apostle said, "It seems that all your dreams agree that (the Night of Qadr) is in the last seven nights, and whoever wants to search for it (i.e. the Night of Qadr) should search in the last seven (nights of Ramadan)." (Sahih Bukhari)

Okey so If I meet that night, is there any special Du'a which I can recite in addition to Prayers and Recitation of Quran?

Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: I asked the Messenger of Allah: 'O Messenger of Allah, if I know what night is the night of Qadr, what should I say during it?' He said: 'Say: "Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annee". (O Allah, You are pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.)' "(Ahmad, Ibn Majah, and Tirmidhi).

Hope this helps a little my dear sister. :) If you need more, I am just a post away. :)
