Can I just add that leaving Islam is extremely serious and carries with it many things.
Allah is ar-Rahim, the Most Merciful. Especially Merciful to His slaves and those who submit themselves to Him. It is not for us to start saying 'oh so and so did this, so they are lost' or 'so and so did this so now they are condemed to Hellfire'. We do not judge and we cannot influence anything, it is up to Allah and it comes from His Qadr. This is part of our aqeeda.
We know from the authentic hadith that if anyone dies with the words 'Laa illaaha illalaah' then they will enter Jannah. (Abu Dawud)
And Allah says in His Book:
'Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.'
(Quran3:102)
Whoever it is you are talking about here, I advise you to give them plenty of da'wah and supplicate to Allah, for them to be guided back to the Truth and surety of faith.

Brother, you are not wasting anybody's time and ask as much as you want.
As for these forums, there is a lot of people with some knowledge but we are not scholars and only find relative references issued by scholars (that we know of) and post them.
These forums are a great way to point into the right direction (sources) with many aspects of Islam. Or giving an opinion on something not defined.
Surely there is great pleasure in doing that.

It is important we keep it clean - as in free of personal opinion, amateur fataawa, innovated practises, etc, etc.
May Allah continue to help us with this site in spreading the correct information about Islam, clearing up mis-conceptions present in non-Muslims and amongst ourselves. And may we become ever increasingly concerned with the Qur'an and Sunnah, ameen.
