:salam2: wbh,
Peace be on you brothers and sisters, may we always be under Allah's blessings. Firstly I've got to say this..Only Allah can reward you brothers and sisters who had tirelessly perform daawah to others. It is refreshing to see that Islam is being spread and talk about.
I am not new to Islam. Am not a convert.
But my whole life of being a Muslimah, people never talk about Islam the way that you all do. Where I come from, i'm sorry to say, :astag:, we tend to take Islam for granted. We never have to justify to other people for being a Muslim. We don't to face religous slanders because we are Muslims. We just are.
We continue our daily lives as if Islam and our other affairs are 2 separate issues. At least I was. Religion to many of us here is a personal issue. Someone used to tell me this, if you want to get religous that's your choice, don't you dare preach me about Islam, coz, u and I we don't share the same grave. You'll answer yours and I'll answer mine'. Which to me is sad. And it's something that I would like to see changed but of course it will take time.
Anyway, even though I was born a muslimah, i never really practice Islam. I mean i perform solah now and then, fast and hmmm, i guess that's about it. I didnt wear hijab, almost never went to the mosque, never heard any sermons, and never really thought or talked about Islam or of being a Muslimah, :astag:. I mean I'm not a bad person or anything.. i just...i guess went astray for a long while.
I mean I did think about Allah and Islam but there wasnt anyone I know who is interested to talk to me about it. Not even the family. Which is too bad. The little that I know about Islam is from my grandmother. And that's not much to begin with, only enough to keep me within the faith. But I guess, really, it's Allah's mercy and compassion for that had kept me within Islam.
Subhanallah..He showed his mercy upon me. 2 years ago, Allah wanted to give hidayah to me. Allah actually moved me out of my environment to a new one or as what they say, hijrah. All praise be to Him Allah Almighty.
As I was driving one beautiful morning, looking at the clear blue sky, admiring it, i loudly asked myself, what for what purpose did Allah created me? It cant be to just eat, sleep, go to work, give birth etc..
And following that Allah SWT, Almighty and Merciful that HE is, He gave me hidayah and strength and wisdom to totally change.
He made my path to know HIM again so easy, gentle and full of love. and subhanallah, so He did for my some of my family members.
Again kudo's to you brothers and sisters who made a difference in this world..
To my new brothers and sisters who Allah had chosen Islam for you, :ma:, I can only say alhamdulillah. May you live and die in the path of Islam.
Assamualaikum..
