As salamualiakum warehmatullahi wabarakatahu.... I hope every one on tti are in the best of there health and imaan. I dont remember that have i posted it before or not as i am back after a very long gap.. Any ways dear sisters and brothers my question is " is it true that a muslim should not ask for wealth or any other good things for sustainence or a good life in this world??? Is it compulsory or good for a muslim to not to be wealthy in this world i mean should a muslim always be poor and with less sustainence in this world...... The reason why i am asking all this is because as everybody knows that now a days the price of every single thing has risen to the sky and even for an average life we need lot of money i mean money is required for every dam thing in this earth even if i wish my child shoukd study in the top college or school which teaches islam i have to pay a lot... So hence i always ask to Allah subhanawatala to gice us enough money or rather more money so that our dreams are fullfilled and along with that we may help the needy. I am Wrong??? And one more thing is has Allah subhanawatala created us muslims poor?? Also is it true that we should be poor live poor and die as a poor person because we are muslims???
Also I always ask Allah subhanawatala to give me what ever i need and Alhamdullilah i have got every thing mashallah. So is it not right for me to ask for whatever i desire or need?? Am i doing a sin wont i get jannah in the hereafter if i ask for all the good things of the world and heareaftewr also?????????????/

salam aleikum wa rahmatulahy wa barakatuh

Dear sister, i personally ask Allah to give me what He thinks is best..this way i know i cant be wrong, He knows better.

From what we know is no problem is a person is wealthy and has money to have a decent life, but we need to give zakat, help the needy, feed the poor from what we have that is beyond neccesary.
We also know that Prophet, peace be upon him and his companions feared of having any possesion because we will be aksed for on the Day of Judgment.

"And they are ordained naught else than to serve Allah, keeping religion pure for Him, as men by nature upright, and to establish worship and to pay the poor-due (Zakah). That is true religion." (Quran 98:5)

In a hadith, PROPHET (SAW|) stated,

"The poor will enter Paradise before the rich by half a day, and that is five hundred years."

Allah is the giver of everything and He knows what is best for us, we ask for His guidance.

Narrated Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him), that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O Allaah, cause me to live poor and cause me to die poor, and gather me among the poor on the Day of Resurrection.” Al-Tirmidhi said: This is a ghareeb hadeeth.

It was also narrated by Ibn Maajah (4126) from Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him).

Many scholars classed it as da’eef. If we assume it is saheeh, then what is meant by “poor” here is being humble before Allaah, not having little wealth.

Ibn Katheer said in al-Bidaayah wa’l-Nihaayah (6/75):
With regard to the hadeeth narrated by Ibn Maajah from Abu Sa’eed, that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O Allaah, cause me to live poor …”, it is a da’eef hadeeth, and it not proven from its isnaad, because it includes Yazeed ibn Sinaan Abu Farwah al-Rahaawi, who is very weak (da’eef jiddan). And Allaah know best.

It was also narrated by al-Tirmidhi with another isnaad from Anas … then he said: This is a ghareeb hadeeth.

I (Ibn Katheer) say: there is some weakness in its isnaad, and there is something objectionable in its text. And Allaah knows best. End quote.

In Lisaan al-‘Arab it says (13/216):

The original meaning of miskeen in Arabic is humble, and the original meaning of faqeer is needy.

Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O Allaah, cause me to live poor (miskeen)” meaning thereby humble, not one of the arrogant and proud, i.e., humble and submissive before You, O Lord, not arrogant. The word miskeen here does not mean poor in the sense of being in need.

In al-Talkhees (3/109), al-Haafiz Ibn Hajar quoted al-Bayhaqi as saying of this hadeeth: In my view it does not mean that he was asking for poverty in the sense of having little, rather he was asking for humility. End quote.

Islam does not forbid saving up wealth in all cases, rather what is forbidden and what a stern warning is issued against is not paying zakaah on one’s wealth. But if a person pays zakaah, he is not included in the condemnation.

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And those who hoard up gold and silver (Al‑Kanz: the money, the Zakaah of which has not been paid) and spend them not in the way of Allaah, announce unto them a painful torment”
[al-Tawbah 9:34]

Abu Dawood (1564) narrated from Umm Salamah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “That which reaches the level where zakaah is to be paid and its zakaah is paid, is not kanz (hoarded wealth).” Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.

Al-Bukhaari (1404) narrated that Khaalid ibn Aslam said: We went out with ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) and a Bedouin said: Tell me about the words of Allaah, “And those who hoard up gold and silver (Al‑Kanz: the money, the Zakaah of which has not been paid) and spend them not in the way of Allaah”. Ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The one who hoards them and does not pay zakaah on them, woe to him. That was before zakaah was revealed; when it was revealed, Allaah made it a purification of wealth.

Maalik narrated in al-Muwatta’ (595) that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn Dinar said: I heard ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar when he was asked about kanz – what is it? He said: It is wealth on which zakaah is not paid.

And Allaah knows best.

I think that money is important in the life of a muslem. Why?
Allah ordered us to spend in his way , to feed the hungry, to support orphans and widows poor people.......if we don't have money how can we live? Help others.....? But the important thing is that we should remember that this life is coming to an end we have to prepare for the coming day .....

Ask

Make du'a
du'a
and more du'a.

Allah swt said:


"And Allah(swt) gives to those Allah(swt) wills without limit"

Holy qur'an:Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 212


"Verily, Allah(swt) provides sustenance to whom Allah(swt) pleases without measure"

Surah Ali Imran, verse 37

Dear brother, there is nothing wrong in being rich or asking allah(swt) money, remember when Prophet Sulayman(pbuh) asked Allah(swt) to grant him a KINGDOM THAT HE(SWT) WON'T GIVE TO ANYONE ELSE EXCEPT HIM i think this is more than asking just money so there's nothing wrong in asking it BUT wether you receive what you asked depends on many factors: Do you follow the sunnah so that Allah(swt) may be more keen to grant your wish? Do you think that you won't fall in ANY sin if you had money?Are you sure that NOT having it will be less beneficial than having it? all these questions must be answered in your heart but you must remember that the ebst of Du'a is when you ask Allah(swt) t guide you to that which is BEST IN THIS LIFE AND THE OTHER; so ask Allah(swt) and talk to him as if you were seeing him and tell Him(swt) that you will do your best to do halal with the money that you're sking, also remember to ask Allah(swt) to make the money you receive always halal, and to pay attention to riba for these days riba is EVERYWHERE, ask Allah to forvige you and ask Him(swt) to guide you in such a way that you may comprehend His(swt) plan and so thet you may understand what REALLY is best for you in this life....by the way Muslims don't HAVE to be poor BUT rich people have more responsability and tentations so watch out
May allah(swt) guide you, bless you , love and inspire you with the best..and remember never lose hope in Allah(swt) for He(swt) is nearer to us than our own selves
