CAN I DECIDE WHEN TO SAY -IT'S NOT MY TIME-?

Some nights ago I had a strange dream:I was in a living room and was walking among a moltitude of tables. At a certain point I saw a big door opening to me and it came an intense white light from there. For an instant I was going toward that light, but in the same time it came to my mind the memory of my dears(children, husband and parents)and I made a step backward saying to myself-it's not my time-
Is it possible that I decided not to die?has anybody of you had a similar experience and can explain me the meaning of it??

Wa`alaykumassalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatu

Dreams are really really hard to interpret only experienced Scholars in this field can do it. Bad dreams are from Shaytaan so just chuck this one. Most of our dreams are because of our excessive thinking about something.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) divided dreams into three categories.

Abu Hurayrah related that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Dreams are three categories: the good one a glad tiding from Allah, a bad dream from Satan, and a normal dream which exposes what the person thinks. If you see what you dislike, get up and pray and do not mention it to others.” [Sahîh Muslim]

In another hadîth related by Abu Qatâdah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “A good dream is from Allah and the bad one from Satan. If any of you sees what he dislikes, he should spit on his left side three times and seek refuge from Allah against its evil then it will not hurt him.” [Sahîh Muslim]

In another narration related by Jâbir, he says: “The person should turn on his other side.” [Sahîh Muslim]

Therefore, if someone tells you about a bad dream, mention to him the above hadîth, in which our Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade telling others of the same and advise him to read the prescribed supplications before going to sleep.

The night I dreamt about that event I judged it good, because I was leaving my terrestrial life, but some moments after, the same night,I had a bad dream,I really disliked it.if a bad dream is from Shaytan, should I have a shower to wash away what it touched me?
so my question about the decision to say-stop-is unanswerable?maybe it was casuality, but I confess that in my mind,it's few days has come to me the idea to leave this terrestrial life:it's like if I have the sensation that something is going to hoppen to me.a'udhu Billahi

Sahi Muslim 6480
Anas (b. Malik) Anas (b. Malik) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying None of you should make a request for death because of the trouble in which he is involved, but if there is no other help to it, then say: O Allah, keep me alive as long as there is goodness in life for me and bring death to me when there is goodness in death for me.

insha'allah everything will be good...

Indeed the summary I read really gave me another information more.is there any book of the interpretation of dreams in Islam?
I'm saying this, because since my childhood I had many strange dreams that changed with the time.I am actually having dreams which in some days become true!!!Yes,I'm a firm believer,I honest and pudic.I sleep on the right side and thank Allah in each moment of my life.some days before my grondmother died,I dreamt about a vehicule accident:then I knew the bad news that she really died in a vehicule accident.sometimes I see how the evil manifests in my dreams(under the shape of a black dog)but now that I'm stronger,I can defeat it in my dreams.only when it happens that I sleep in a state of unpureness,I have bad dreams.a'udhu billah!
@ brother Tariq353,what you said is exemplar, and should be followed from everybody, because the life is precious and must be respected.Me,if I'll live 10 years more,I'll be happy, but if I'll die tomorrow,I'll be twice happy!I don't fear to leave my terrestrial life, because it belongs to Allah and to Him I'll return:)

Ibn Seerin's Dictionary of Dreams is not only unauthentic, it is misleading and cannot be relied upon by sincere Muslims for guidance. It is of little more value to Muslims than the Oneirocritica, the most famous book of dream interpretation compiled by the 2nd Century CE pagan Greek soothsayer Artemidorus Daldianus.
Please read what Bilal Philips has mentioned about this book http://www.bilalphilips.com/bilal_pages.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=391

It is totally impossible for anyone to decide not to die when their time comes. Death cannot be delayed even for a twinkling of an eye and it cannot be earlier than the time decreed by Allah.
