wa eyak :)

you want it for ur work , isn't that ? I'll write them in Formal Arabic ( fos'ha ) but while talking we NEVER use it , we use the classic one .. it's very different ..
it's so funny if one use Fos'ha while talking , unusual thing :tongue:

so if u want the classic one I'll write them too , but in the Saudi classic where u live ..

F= formal
C= classic

1. what is your nationality?
F : ماهي جنسيتك ؟
ma heya Jinseyatuk ?
C = ish heya jinseyatak ?

2. what is your qualification?
F = ما هو مؤهلك ؟
ma huwa mu'ahalak ?
C = ish mu'ahalak ?

3. is it for ur self or somebody else? ( i'd rather to add the word ( job ) instead of (it ) if u want tell me to write it .

F : هل هي لك أم لشخصِ آخر ؟
Hal heya lak am li shakhsin akhar ?
c = heya lik walla li wa7id thani ?

4. so in which course you are interested?
i dont know its translation , i'll ask daddy in sha Allah .. so remind me ^_^

5. from where did you hear about our office?
F = من أين سمعت عن مكتبنا ؟
Min ayna sami3ta 3an maktabena ?
C = min wain ( or fain ) smi3t 3an maktabna ?

6. can you pls visit our office for more information?
F = من فضلك .. هل تستطيع زيارة مكتبنا للمزيد من المعلومات ؟
Min fadhlik .. hal tasta6ee3 zeyarat maktabna lil mazeed min al ma3lomat ?
C = we say ( can u visit our office in order to take more information )
Te8dar tzoor maktabna li ma3lomat akthar ?

I know u wonder about 3 , 6 and 8
3 = letter A but as we pronounce it .. for example the name : Ali ( 3li )
6 = strong T .. like my name : Fatima ( Fa6ma )
8 = strong Q .. like the word : Qur'an ( 8ur'an )

if u have more Qs .. tell me :)

No .. but it's a strange thing .. they will respect ur being as non arabic speaker ..

Fos'ha is the best , others are difficult .. I cant understand the tunisian , morrocan , algerian accents although I can speak arabic .

و حظاَ موفقاَ في تعلم العربية للجميع :)

oh no sister!! the dialects differ even between states :confused:

it was hard for me to know that arabic changes frm country to country and now u threw another huge mountain on me by telling that it varies even between states.:(

well, i m riyadh. i think they use the simple ordinary one.:)

Fatima S.Ar

Happiness = Islam
Yes , so that I always say Arabic is difficult for foriegners , they'll be confused what dialect to learn !

Even the one city has many dialects , Riyadh as well ( hayeli , qaseemi and the origional one Najdi )

The translation will be ( Spoken Arabic not written ) :

1. i want one pen.
A36eni ( OR 3a6ni ) wa7id galam
OR
abgha wa7id galam
Riyadh ppl use the word ( Areed ) to say I want , but always the foriegners dont use it .
In Jeddah we say aba , u can use it there .

2. give me one pepsi.
why pepsi ? it's not healthy :tongue:

A36eni wa7id pepsi

3. take this.
khith hatha
or for a polite way , you say ( atfadhal hatha )

4. i will come after 10 min.
ra7 arja3 ba3ad 3asharah dagayeg
or
baji ba3ad 3asharah dagayeg

5. can u come after asr?
tegdar teji ba3d salat al3asur ?
mumkin teji ba3ad salat al 3asur ? ( for a polite way )

6. stop here.
wag'gif hena
( they say henayah instead of hena to say here .. but i don't like it :D )

7. take u-turn
khith u-turn
we say U turn as it is in English

8. go to that place
roo7 li thak al makan

9. i am going to office
ana raye7 al maktab
or
baroo7 al maktab

actually when I read it again I discovered it's in Jeddawiah ( Jeddah's dialect ) and some Najdi :tongue:
but u can say it like this way , my dialect it the most famous in SA bcz it's MINE :cool:

:D
