Asalam alaikum warahmatullah
I do not know if this is paranoia but. It was the beginning of this year I think around January time. Two brothers who say they are from Afghanistan and were collecting money for orphans came to our door. We thought this was brilliant as we have always wanted to help and they showed us pictures of orphaned children and we chose a 4yr old girl to sponsor, we paid for 2years tuition in Madrassah back in Afghanistan. The brothers left their contact details and we said inshallah we will contact them again whenever to give them more money for the little girl.
Since we paid for 2 years we did not expect them to come back any time and since they left their details we expected that we should be the ones to phone them but they have been constantly coming back it is getting annoying, may Allah forgive me. It is about 6months and we paid for 2yrs tuition and to be honest I am a bit suspicious. I do not want to feel this way because if they are mUslim I do not want to doubt them.
What made me really suspicious is one of them came about 2 weeks ago with 2 DVDs apparently of Mujahidin fighting in Afghanistan they left them for my hubby to watch. As soon as they left he destroyed them he did not watch them nor did I and put them in the bin. I mean in this day and age how can anyone in their right mind go around giving people these things especially someone they do not know even if they support them.
I made sincere dua to Allah in my opinion and I asked Allah if these people are genuine, may they not come back and they should wait till we call them when it is time for the little girl to get more sponsorship but guess what one of them came back tonight when we were having dinner. Should I take this as a sign that they are not genuine. In my opinion they were probably working with police and want to frame people by giving you these DVDsand if police are tipped and search your house how can you deny these things are not yours or someone gave them to you. In this day and age of indirectly insighting terrorism. The other thing is they hardly speak they kinda like come into the house and sit and speak when spoken to which is a bit strange since it is them who are coming to us you would expect them to say something? They know where we live because when they were collecting the money they were going door to door.
Maybe I am just being paranoid and May Allah forgive me if I am being suspicious of genuine brother sespecially when they said they are collecting money for orphans and now they bring these DVDs. We do not know the real content of them as we did not watch them. My hubby is a bit suspicious as well especially after the 2 week ago incident but does not really say much about it just in case they are genuine.
