As how you felt other comments were inappropriate, I think the above in red is extremely inappropriate.

since when does a muslim need to be qualified, to practice Islam?

Basing your statement you seem to know how much knowledge each of us have and how do you know that a person, has not already asked a sheik (pleasing to your standards) as well.

I suggest you pm the member rather than blast every member on this forum openly.

Not to many of us have time to answer questions appropriately.

don't take what I said, negatively, just as advise.

I think what akhi thariq meant was that since akhi shaheer has a specific situation in which he could possibly get persecuted for wearing a sunnah beard while entering in to a country, he should consult a Shaykh/Aalim who is aware of the situation and can advise him if there is a relaxation of the obligation in his case or not.

I think this is a sound advice, as some of us here suggested "grow it when you reach such and such place'. Apart from the common sense in such an advice, where is the daleel for such an action ? You are suggesting a brother to trim his beard for a specified period of time (which is actually prohibited), while you are infact not even sure if this is a relaxation allowed to him (as per his personal situation) in Islamic Shariah.

If however, akhi shaheer wanted to know about the general ruling about Sunnah beard, we would have been able to help him and provide the fatawa and articles with regards to it. He is already conversant with those details Alhamdulillah. As akhi thariq rightly suggested, he should consult an Aalim now, communicating his personal situation to him so that he can get a ruling for his case InshaAllah.

May Allah make it easy for akhi shaheer and all brothers and sisters to practice the deen. Ameen.

Assalaam walaikum,

Son,

If you are coming to study what fear do you have. People smell fear. Muslims have been subjected to interrogation forever. ( the latest have been since 1947ish).
You have to be firm and strong. How can you commence anything in fear. You can not. Be firm..like a rock.

I am not going to engage in back and forth what is correct and what is a sin. And I write once again, a beard is not the prerequisite for Allah granting us heaven. If that were the case every man would have a bread.

It may be a good thing, but it is not the tenet of faith. It is a simple act of faith.

I mean does every man have to break his tooth? No. Sometimes common sense prevails.

I have a full leyha (far longer than "fist length", I never knew that's the goal I was to aspire to) and have traveled with it. When I went overseas to Kuwait I was pulled aside by the DoHS and was questioned for so long that the waiting room had emptied & every other passenger was already in their seat before I was allowed to board the plane (this was beyond the security checkpoint - they pulled me aside on the gangway).

It was an inconvenience, yes, but it didn't deter me. I say let ALLAH be your protector: let your beard stay as is, and come to the US.

Assalaam walaikum,

We all get pulled to the side..flying while Muslim..driving while Muslim..forgive me..I just realized I fly, walk, drive, eat, pray in hijab. ( I forgot..that hijab does kinda sorta stick out)

Son..come on in to the US..we have some very good people here..And you can always come to dinner for a home cooked meal at my house..I can even make good Indo-Paki food.

If it's not full fist length at the moment, that means it's not really long right? I'm thinking just show your akhlaq, be nice, smile, like the prophet pbuh, and let them know how impressive is Islam. For your beard, you love it, so keep it for you, for the sake of Allah. And InshaAllah it will go well.

WE ARE PROTECTED
options on my advice:

1- grow your beard the way you would prefer (sunnah way) and feel confortable. the fear you have is from the shaytan. put your fear in Allah and not the shaytan or authorities at the airport. Make lots of duas and tasbih and tell Allah 'Oh Allah, i grow this beard for you, for the sunnah, i fear none but you, allow me to walk through successfully with no fear and no delays, please help me, this is a test for me and i will pass it so guide me to the right path'

or

2- leave it the way you said it is, and remember that Allah will judge you according to your intentions inshallah. at least your upset about not being able to have that beard you wish for. inshallah you will be rewarded as if you have a beard of sunnah. Allah is kind, generious he will understand. just speak to Allah, honestly, open your hands, pour your eyes, say 'oh allah, i seek your permission and your guidance in this beard i have, i fear none but you, i want to travel and feel confortable with this beard. i promise when im settled, i will grow my beard. but i need your support and i need your guidance and protection' say stuff like this. Allah is our protecting friend. he listens to us.

put in your mind, if Allah wants you to pass through successfully, wheather you have a beard or not he will let it be. if he does not will for you to pass successfully, wheather you have a beard or not he wont let it be. remember, its not the airport people that will delay your or approve you, its Allah who will make them do either one. so your job is to understand this, do what you feel will please Allah the most, and tell Allah that its upto him wheather you go through or not and that you dont believe its the airport peoples decision because Allah is the one giving them this decision. and beg Allah to therefore allow you to enter successfully by putting this approval in the hearts of the airport people.

all you have to do is have that intention, lots of duas, always remember its upto Allah not them, do what pleases Allah and he wont leave you. if he does, then that just means its not good for you to go through he is protecting you and you dont know it. Allah makes the decision based on what is best for us.

eg: i have a lolly jar, my son asks can i have it all, off course im going to say NO you can have one lolly only and thats because i care and love him and want whats best for him. not because im upset with him or dislike him. so you cant get the whole package, Allah will give you what is best for you.

dont get upset if you dont go through, its probably not good for you. remmeber that. as much as you want it, remember Allah loves you so much that if its not good for you he wont give it to you.

remember your fear is from the shaytan. be brave MAN and strong for Allah:tti_sister:
