Salam aleikoum

فِيهَا يُفْرَقُ كُلُّ أَمْرٍ حَكِيمٍ
44.4. Feeha yufraqu kullu amrin hakeemin
44.4. Ce fut au cours de cette nuit où toute sage décision est prise,
44.4 . Whereupon every wise command is made clear

أَمْراً مِّنْ عِندِنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا مُرْسِلِينَ
44.5. Amran min AAindina inna kunna mursileena
44.5. en vertu d’un ordre émanant de Nous, car Nous avons l’habitude d’envoyer des messagers,
44.5 . As a command from Our presence . Lo! We are ever sending

It is not righteousness that ye turn your faces Towards east or West; but it is righteousness- to believe in Allah and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your substance, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity; to fulfil the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the Allah-fearing.

رَحْمَةً مِّن رَّبِّكَ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
44.6. Rahmatan min rabbika innahu huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
44.6. à titre de miséricorde de ton Seigneur qui entend tout et sait tout,
44.6 . A mercy from thy Lord . Lo! He is the Hereafter , the Knower ,

رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
44.7. Rabbi alssamawati waal-ardi wama baynahuma in kuntum mooqineena
44.7. qui est le Souverain des Cieux, de la Terre et des espaces interstellaires. Si seulement vous pouviez y croire !
44.7 . Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them , if ye would be sure .

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ آبَائِكُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
44.8. La ilaha illa huwa yuhyee wayumeetu rabbukum warabbu aba-ikumu al-awwaleena
44.8. Il n’est de divinité que Lui. Il donne la vie et Il donne la mort. Il est votre Seigneur et le Seigneur de vos premiers ancêtres.
44.8 . There is no God save Him . He quickeneth and giveth death ; your Lord and Lord of your forefathers .

بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ يَلْعَبُونَ
44.9. Bal hum fee shakkin yalAAaboona
44.9. Mais loin de croire, ces sceptiques passent leur temps à s’amuser et à se divertir.
44.9 . Nay , but they play in doubt .

فَارْتَقِبْ يَوْمَ تَأْتِي السَّمَاء بِدُخَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
44.10. Fairtaqib yawma ta/tee alssamao bidukhanin mubeenin
44.10. Eh bien ! Attends le jour où du ciel surgira une épaisse fumée
44.10 . But watch thou ( O Muhammad ) for the day when the sky will produce visible smoke

يَغْشَى النَّاسَ هَذَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
44.11. Yaghsha alnnasa hatha AAathabun aleemun
44.11. qui enveloppera les hommes. «Voilà un châtiment cruel !, diront-ils.
44.11 . That will envelop the people . This will be a painful torment .

رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ
44.12. Rabbana ikshif AAanna alAAathaba inna mu/minoona
44.12. Seigneur, éloigne de nous ce châtiment ! Nous croyons, à présent, en Toi !»
44.12 . ( Then they will say ) : Our Lord relieve of the torment . Lo! we are believers :

ثُمَّ تَوَلَّوْا عَنْهُ وَقَالُوا مُعَلَّمٌ مَّجْنُونٌ
44.14. Thumma tawallaw AAanhu waqaloo muAAallamun majnoonun
44.14. et qu’ils l’avaient repoussé en disant : «C’est un fou qui répète une leçon apprise !»
44.14 . And they had turned away from him and said : One taught ( by others ) , a madman?

إِنَّا كَاشِفُو الْعَذَابِ قَلِيلاً إِنَّكُمْ عَائِدُونَ
44.15. Inna kashifoo alAAathabi qaleelan innakum AAa-idoona
44.15. Que Nous dissipions pour un temps vos tourments, vous n’en reviendriez pas moins à vos errements !
44.15 . Lo! We withdraw the torment a little . Lo! ye return ( to disbelief ) .

يَوْمَ نَبْطِشُ الْبَطْشَةَ الْكُبْرَى إِنَّا مُنتَقِمُونَ
44.16. Yawma nabtishu albatshata alkubra inna muntaqimoona
44.16. Le jour où Nous frapperons avec la dernière rigueur, Nous vous ferons expier vos fautes !
44.16 . On the day when We shall seize them with the greater seizure ( then ) , in truth We shall punish .

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
44.17. Walaqad fatanna qablahum qawma firAAawna wajaahum rasoolun kareemun
44.17. Avant eux, Nous avions déjà éprouvé le peuple de Pharaon, quand un illustre prophète lui fut envoyé.
44.17 . And verily We tried before them Pharaoh ' s folk , when there came unto them a noble messenger ,

Salam aleikoum

وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
44.20. Wa-innee AAuthtu birabbee warabbikum an tarjumooni
44.20. Je me réfugie en Dieu qui est mon Seigneur et le vôtre, pour que vous ne me lapidiez pas.
44.20 . And lo! I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord lest ye stone me to death .

وَإِنْ لَّمْ تُؤْمِنُوا لِي فَاعْتَزِلُونِ
44.21. Wa-in lam tu/minoo lee faiAAtazilooni
44.21. Si vous n’êtes pas convaincus, éloignez-vous de moi.»
44.21 . And if ye put no faith in me , then let me go

فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَؤُلَاء قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
44.22. FadaAAa rabbahu anna haola-i qawmun mujrimoona
44.22. Moïse se plaignit alors à son Seigneur : «C’est un peuple de criminels.»

فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلاً إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
44.23. Faasri biAAibadee laylan innakum muttabaAAoona
44.23. – «Pars de nuit, avec Mes serviteurs, lui fut-il révélé, mais vous serez poursuivis !
44.23 . Then ( his Lord commanded ) Take away my slaves by night . Lo! ye will be followed ,

وَاتْرُكْ الْبَحْرَ رَهْواً إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44.24. Waotruki albahra rahwan innahum jundun mughraqoona
44.24. Laisse la mer béante telle que tu l’auras franchie. Tes poursuivants y seront engloutis.»
44.24 . And leave the sea behind at rest , for lo! they are a drowned host .

كَمْ تَرَكُوا مِن جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
44.25. Kam tarakoo min jannatin waAAuyoonin
44.25. Combien de jardins et de sources n’ont-ils pas laissés !
44.25 . How many were the gardens and the water springs that they left behind ,

وَزُرُوعٍ وَمَقَامٍ كَرِيمٍ
44.26. WazurooAAin wamaqamin kareemin
44.26. Que de belles plantations et de magnifiques demeures !
44.26 . And the cornlands and the goodly sites

وَنَعْمَةٍ كَانُوا فِيهَا فَاكِهِينَ
44.27. WanaAAmatin kanoo feeha fakiheena
44.27. Que de bien-être dont ils savouraient les délices sans soucis !
44.27 . And pleasant things wherein they took delight!

كَذَلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَاهَا قَوْماً آخَرِينَ
44.28. Kathalika waawrathnaha qawman akhareena
44.28. Tel fut leur destin. Tout cela passa entre les mains d’un autre peuple,
44.28 . Even so ( it was ) , and We made it an inheritance for other folk ;

فَمَا بَكَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنظَرِينَ
44.29. Fama bakat AAalayhimu alssamao waal-ardu wama kanoo munthareena
44.29. et ni le Ciel ni la Terre ne versèrent de larmes sur leur malheur, pas plus qu’aucun délai ne leur fut accordé !
44.29 . And the heaven and the earth wept not for them , nor were they reprieved .

وَلَقَدْ نَجَّيْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ
44.30. Walaqad najjayna banee isra-eela mina alAAathabi almuheeni
44.30. Nous avons ainsi délivré les enfants d’Israël de la servitude humiliante
44.30 . And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom

مِن فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ عَالِياً مِّنَ الْمُسْرِفِينَ
44.31. Min firAAawna innahu kana AAaliyan mina almusrifeena
44.31. à laquelle les réduisait Pharaon, cet arrogant outrancier.
44.31 . ( We delivered them ) from Pharaoh . Lo! he was a tyrant of the wanton ones .

Salam aleikoum

وَلَقَدِ اخْتَرْنَاهُمْ عَلَى عِلْمٍ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ
44.32. Walaqadi ikhtarnahum AAala AAilmin AAala alAAalameena
44.32. Nous les avons choisis à bon escient parmi tous les peuples de l’Univers,
44.32 . And We chose them , purposely , above ( all ) creatures .

وَآتَيْنَاهُم مِّنَ الْآيَاتِ مَا فِيهِ بَلَاء مُّبِينٌ
44.33. Waataynahum mina al-ayati ma feehi balaon mubeenun
44.33. et Nous leur avons apporté des miracles qui constituaient pour eux une rude épreuve.
44.33 . And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial .

إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء لَيَقُولُونَ
44.34. Inna haola-i layaqooloona
44.34. Mais ces païens-là continuent à affirmer :
44.34 . Lo! these , forsooth , are saying :

إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا مَوْتَتُنَا الْأُولَى وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُنشَرِينَ
44.35. In hiya illa mawtatuna al-oola wama nahnu bimunshareena
44.35. «Il n’y a pour nous qu’une seule mort, la première. Et nous ne serons point ressuscités !
44.35 . There is naught but our first death , and we shall not be raised again .

فَأْتُوا بِآبَائِنَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
44.36. Fa/too bi-aba-ina in kuntum sadiqeena
44.36. Ressuscitez donc nos ancêtres, si vous êtes sincères !»
44.36 . Bring back our fathers , if ye speak the truth!

أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ
44.37. Ahum khayrun am qawmu tubbaAAin waallatheena min qablihim ahlaknahum innahum kanoo mujrimeena
44.37. Sont-ils, eux, les meilleurs ou le peuple de Tubba` et les peuples antérieurs que Nous avons exterminés en raison de leurs crimes?
44.37 . Are they better , or the folk of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them , for surely they were guilty .
