    Assalamo alaikum Aapa,

Your recent accomplishment (completing 9000 post) does say a lot about you. It proves that you have the ability to think critically and then put those thoughts into words. For that you really deserve appreciation.

You should continue the brilliant work but I think now it’s the time to give it a new direction. A direction that will have an impact on a large scale. This ultimate direction is to be determined by you. All I can do is to provide you with some suggestion which you can either adapt or completely discard. Below are two suggestions that I can think of while being in the airplane.
    1. Write a book
    2. Open a non-profit organization for sisters

    BOOK:
One topic that I can think of for the book is
    1) Contributions of Muslims towards the development of United States

This development could be social, economical, political, educational and ethical. The social development can include the real life examples of those who have accepted Islam. You can talk about the impact Islam had on their life style. How their life was before converting to Islam and how there life is after converting to Islam?

Furthermore you can talk about different organizations that are helping not only Muslims but also non-Muslims. Organization that are feeding the poor’s, providing the shelter for the homeless (oh yeah, we do have homeless people in USA) and responding when there is a natural calamity.

For economical and educational development, you can write about those who are scientists, engineers, doctors, lawyers, security official etc. You can write about their accomplishments or contributions.

Ethical and social developments are inter-related. Inshallah others can add more to this.

    Non-profit organization:

You can open a small organization for sisters. This organization would focus on the development of sisters, whether they are Muslim by birth or they reverted to Islam. The future mothers of the Ummah need a lot of help when they step in to high school.

The organization will have a resource center (whether virtual or real) that would help the sisters to understand at least the basic tennets of Islam.
Most of the converts in USA are sisters. They need a lot of religious, moral and financial help. Make a center where they can go freely without hesitating to ask for help, whether it be to learn how to put on the hijab or read quran.
There are so many students in high school or college that can’t afford the expenses. We need a center that provides scholarships to those deserving students.

There is tremendous amount of dawa work that we being Muslims can do, However its needs a contribution from all of us.

Go ahead with a clean mind and inshallah you will be able to see the fruits of your tree.

    Assalaam walaikum,

    Son,

I am thoroughly embarrassed. It also states that I am boring to a tee.

I am humbled by this. I am more action driven and would love to do something along the Women's Center. A dear sister and I have thought and written out plans to have a women's community. An independent community for women and children that would be self-sufficient.

I have been bored for a couple of days...I love my little girls that I teach...but I have been looking out of the window...

If this was anywhere but on TTI I would dismiss this. I can not. I have to find land, money, and guess I will have to visit many a masjid around the world...yeah...I'm hip...Alhumdullila.

    Wa-alaikumus salam wa rahmatullah

You are boring? Are you? Where you got that impression from? I always love to read your post and I am sure that others too love your thread. If you were boring then I wouldn't have written this thread while I was in the airplane which was 34000 feet above the ground.

sister, if you are passionate then no obstacle can stop you from achieving your goal. Two days ago, I meet Elizabeth Holmes. I was deeply impressed with what she has achieved at this age. She is in her 20s.
Start from a micro level (which you already did my teaching in a school if i remember correctly). You don't have to go from state to state. Just focus in the state where you are currently staying.

Pick any mosque which is near you. Arrange events, gets these girls involved. They can help you a lot in terms of organizing and publicizing the event.

Start with whatever resources you have. Publicize your goals and inshallah money will start flowing like water. I do agree with you will need a lot of patience. But do remember that Allah is with those who are patient.

Aapa should put dirt in your mouth brother. Don't you know that you should not praise somebody like this ? If you want to do so, do it behind their backs.

    Assalaam walaikum,

Please brothers and sisters..there is no praise here.

The brother is trying to help me find something constructive to do. He has detected that I need a challenge in my life. He has done this by making it very public.

Yes, I need a little adventure. I see some possibilities and I will, InshaAllah work on building our community in the area where I live.

He is on spot about the need for young Muslim girls post high school and in college to have mentors.

And to have a center of reverts is an excellent idea.

Currently, I am in the process of trying to raise enrollment. I am trying to explain to parents the need to educate Muslim girls in a non-threatening environment that is better than public education at little cost to them.

So..chill out please. I am one who is shy and modest...trust me..I am one that does not appear in public. I am a background person.

If this is offensive..please close it.

My mouth was wide open to gulp the awaiting mud sent by sister Aapa. But guess what, the dirt never arrived because she never sent it, rather a cup of tea came to my room. My mom make me a herbal tea because I got sick. Love her (mom) soo much ...

Brother you misunderstood the post. Please don't hasten in judging others. :)

Brother, In islam there is naseeha and fadeeha..Naseeha is humble advice that attempts to clarify to the person where they went wrong. When it is done well, the advice wouldn't leave anything in the heart, if not gratitude. Fadeeha is public ridicule.

So brother, even if you truly believed there was something wrong with his post , which one of the two approaches do you think would go better to correct your muslim brother?

You might want to remind the brother of the hadith you have in mind, but to actually say the above is hmmm... ...what do you think? I'm just hoping to draw your attention to that. Barakallah feek.

There is nothing wrong with the post...Seriously.... The brother gave an excellent example of how we shouldn't be quick in judging other people and throwing stones at them....

    Assalamu'alaikum,

This just a reminder for all of us and not for someone specific.

Naseeha or advice should be done correctly, it shouldn't be done in public, and should be done out of love for that person.. we have PMs for a reason, and we should use that as best as possible.

I once gave a correction to a newly reverted brother by sending him PM and choosing my wordings carefully, and the effect is tremendous, it creates a bond and love of each other, that is one of the blessings of doing da'wa with hikmah insya Allah.

Also for the others who wants to defend brother helpinghumanity, please don't get caught by the trap of syaithan and counter-bash brother muhammadmaksul.. one reminder post is enough, or better yet, continue the counter-advice in PM as well!, we should avoid the doors that leads to anger as much as possible, because anger leads to hatred, and that creates cracks in our unity.

To brother helpinghumanity, let's re-focus and please continue the discussion.. this is an interesting thread masya Allah, and its possible that something great will come out of it insya Allah..

Did you got those point for driving tooo slow? Just kidding Aapa...

The day before yesterday, I got a ticket of $115 for parking on a wrong spot. Now that's called wasting money. I would have used those for lunch..:(

Mashallah sister, do you mind sharing those possibilities with us. Inshallah we will truly evaluate your concepts and will give you our genuine suggestions.

    Assalaam walaikum,

My trouble is that I do not get tickets I am parked.

You know brother the hardest thing to do is to motivate people. I think there is a need for the sisters in my community to attend halaqas. Once a week, only once a week. That is an immediate project I have been mulling in my head. How do you get women to attend?

Assalamu alaikum, what a coincidence, your talking about tickets. My Brother got a 250 or something dollar ticket for parking over the time allowed to park in a parking spot, but he didn't know you couldn't park there from 7 pm or whatever the time allowed was. And on top of that he also payed for the parking.

the number of posts that aapa has written shows how much leisure time she has.

Also i am a bit disappointed with the "Go Giants" post be aapa.

One would think you had better subjects to post than this and if you want your life viewed online than better be on facebook.

    :salam2: sister

Let them understand and memorise this Heath :

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (radiAllahu anhu) that the Prophet (SallAllahu `alayhi wa sallam) said :

Whoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Resurrection. And whoever alleviates the need of a needy person, Allah will alleviate his needs in this world and the Hereafter. Whoever shields [or hides the misdeeds of] a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the Hereafter. And Allah will aid His Slave so long as he aids his brother. And whoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the Houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that Sakeenah (Tranquility) descends upon them, and Mercy envelops them, and the angels surround them, and Allah mentions them amongst those who are with Him. And whoever is slowed down by his actions, will not be hastened forward by his lineage.

When a sister feels the peace and Happiness in halaka then she will try not to miss it.

At the same time, it shows how effectively she manages her leisure time by participating in a forum where she learns and shares the teachings of Islam.

Rather then criticizing others, one should focus on improving his/her shortcomings. Its is easy to criticize but hard to perform. Lets be realistic.
