I feel sad every time I see this video...but then I think of the reward we as hijabis could be receiving and I say..alhamduliallah rab al-alameen!

Even if we suffer..and even if we are harmed..it is all because allah loves us..and you might know akhi..*man ahabbaho allah..ebtalah*..and discrimination from ignorant individuals is just another form of bala'a..

So alhamduliallah for everything :)

Masha Allah sister... I am so proud of you. Your rewards are multiplied hundreds folds merely by doing such jihad... . I feel like I'm nothing next to you and sister like yourself... May Allah keep you on the right path and grant you jannah.. Ameen.

Alhamdulilah :)
It's Allah we obey no matter how hard the trial is!!

This is similar to slavery days in America... Pretty sad..

I feel so bad for my Muslim sisters out there in the US... Life must be really hard.

I take off my hat to all those sisters who still wear their hijab regardless of the pains and the discrimination against them in the heart of "land of the free"

.

This is such a coincidence because just today, I called this one place because they are hiring for employment and I wanted to work there. They told me that long skirts are fine,so long as they are "tight fitted" and you have to tie back your scarf if you one on is what they told me. Other wise for people like myself who wear the long hijabs will not be considered for the job, regardless of experience, or whether they really need the job or not. So sad really. I have an interview tomorrow, and I still plan to go there with my big hijab and I'm going to try to convince them that it is not a problem or health hazard.

I hope I get the job anyways, because if Allah wills it doesn't matter what their stupid policy says or what anybody thinks.

Yesterday, the lady at the counter wouldn't acknowledge I was waiting there, she wasnt even doing anything else, i waited for about a minute, she had just served my friends who were waiting on the other side, I had to say 'hello?' ..'erm?' and then, when she eventually did bother, she wouldn't look at me, didn't even attempt to conceal her evident dislike, very rude woman.

You have to wait for them to pull themselves together and just do their job.

I was wondering though, how can you present Islaam to such people? You have to undo so much prejudice. Say da'wah was a race track or something, we don't even start at the starting line, we're waay behind because the peoples opinion is already formed about us. I was just another customer, but they can be like that to people they don't even know and at the same time believe their actions are justified?

Sister Ni'mah, inshaAllaah you get your job, I hope you perform so well they have to employ you! :D

May Allaah guide them and keep us guided Ameen! :)

this is a big topic

I am a convert to Islam, and the first few weeks I started wearing hijab everything was fine alhamdulillah. I never really encountered any dangers as such but I have had people stare at me, shake their heads, and laugh at me...but I don't let this bother me because I know Allah will punish those that do this horrible stuff...Remember it is not uncommon for Muslim woman and men to face such difficulties...especially since this is one of many tests from Allah...and we have to face it...don't ever give up!

I plan to give them a piece of my mind tomorrow if they don't hire me simply because of how I dress.

sister people who form their opinions about us before they get to know us are not worthy of our time or efforts. it's like knocking on wall. you will only make yourself tired with those kind of people. dawah is good with open minded people unlike the opinionated ones. when i see the opinionated kind i don't even bother with them cause if they're interested they'll ask you questions or find a way to talk to you. :salam2:

Lol. talk about rudeness. I've been living in the usa for nine years now and i don't think a year passes by where i'm not discriminated against. i used to be really really angry because of this but not anymore...i've learned to defend what is mine and to defend my rights. For me it is more severe than it is for the other muslim girls in school because i'm the one who wears the longest hijab in school....so the racist people tend to pick on me more often cause i stick out more to them. most of the other girls kinda blend in with the rest of the student population. Oh well....it's life, we just gotta learn to defend, defend, and defend. a week ago this boy followed me for a long distance around the entire school and he kept repeating something bad about Allah, i ignored him at first cause he was just making racial remarks....but then he got to Allah and that's where i had to blow. lol so me and my friend went after him( not to kill him. lol) and the security guards in school asked us to come into the office so that they can figure out what's going on. now you gotta remember this is like the fifth time i reported this boy and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING until it got to the day where my friend and i chased him. so they didn't even question us cause they saw how serious we were. they only asked us about what he said and what we did...and then gave him a week of suspicion. they claim that they called the human rights since it was religious violation. well now he's back to school and he doesn't even look my way. lol. another time before him and his friends threw food all over us during lunch time at school. thats not the only time. Seriously i have like the most incidents with racism out of the muslim population in my school. all the muslims keep asking me...why do they pick on you most often? lol i wonder too. lol sometimes it's just way above and beyond my head.
great thread by the way!
